No matter how hard Marvel Studios tries, The Avengers will never surpass Xmen and Spiderman

Even in videogames they are better

I have never seen a Spider-Man cartoon that I didn't enjoy in some way or another. Never.
And I'm even going back to that old 60s series one where he didn't have the Web design on his chest and they reused the same animation cells 20 times in one episode lol. Very crude production values for that time I guess... Still, it's a very cool DVD set to pick up and enjoy.

The first Raimi Spider-Man film is one of the greatest comic book movies of all time. I hold it in higher regard than The Avengers but damn if that film ain't the bomb too.

Second Spider Man film was better. Avengers still better than both imo

Meh, to each his own respectfully.

While I felt the sequel was quite sound, someone felt the need to amp up the "crybaby" aspect of Parker's character. He was too much of a whiny bytch in a lot of instances throughout. A behavior that I don't ever remember seeing him do in the comics. Maybe that was a way to endear to the female audiences...or metrosexual males but I found it noticeably annoying. Great action though.

Reason perhaps why I like it more? I don't know...No doubt Avengers is tight and it's in my Top 5 of CBMs but SM is more impressionable because I like the character more.

I don't think it was to endear him more to females, I think that's sam's understanding of the character. There are aspects of Peter that he understood and aspects he didn't or at least didn't like so he went the direction he did. I think the 2nd one is much better than the first but I can understand why you'd feel the way you do when it comes to Peter and his portrayal.

I can go for that. It was the only fault I found with part 2 really.

Then what in the hell happened to Raimi's understanding of the character in SM3? What was up with all of the b.s. dancing? :lolbron:

He had no interest in Venom being in the movie and the studio kinda forced him.

So alot of the content in the third installment was more of a "don't give a damn" move?

Didn't Sony try and force The Vulture on him too? I remember the flak on that in articles.

He wanted vulture and sandman..they said venom and sandman but that doesn't take away the fact that he wrote the movie and its still his interpretation of peter parker that makes it a bigger fail than it would've been. The fact that he equates peter's humor to arrogance and being full of himself is a miss in my book

:smugbond: likewise.

Not everyone understands spidey breh. they say they do but the proof is in the pudding. And there are aspects of his character that again, Rami either didn't get or just didn't like so he didn't include them. His feeling that Peter is this holy guy who never does anything wrong or that he remained a stereotypical geek once he got to college, or the fact that he didn't let him be funny until the 3rd one and that was just to show his hubris, or the fact that he had a freaking spider-man day, or the fact that ultimately, he quit being spider-man for MJ...these are things I can't understand breh.

Oh and he was going to use vulture and the black cat for the 4th movie but he turned the black cat into the vultress and made her vulture's daughter
