I can't agree with that under these circumstances. There was like 6 combined punches thrown. Aldo defended the title more than that. How does he NOT get an immediate rematch? How does someone Aldo already beat jump him? No need to build him up off a flash KO, IMO.
First off I should say I think Aldo has done more than enough to justify a rematch, but I'll at least explain why I think they don't want to do it.

It would basically be Conor/Aldo 3 from a marketing perspective. They built it up so big and Aldo pulled out right before the fight, and then they did it again, and now I think that people are tired of Conor/Aldo (even I was getting sick of it) and people want something fresh. I don't think the UFC brass wants to throw a bunch of resources into hyping up another fight when they've already broke the bank twice on it. When you combine that with their anger at Aldo for pulling out of the last fight because he was technically medically cleared to fight, and the fact that they've never head the smoothest relationship with Aldo or his manager, I just think they want to do something else first.

It's not fair. Ronda and Cain are getting rematches under circumstances less deserving IMO than Aldo. Aldo dominated much better competition than Ronda for over a decade, and Ronda got hammered from pillar to post for her entire fight before getting put away. Aldo definitely could be getting treated better in regards to this rematch, but since the UFC walks the line between being a pure sport and a business/entertainment venture, it totally makes sense that they'd want to have Conor fight someone different now.

It's only cause of the parties involved.

I don't recall Edgar-Mendes getting over analyzed like this.
Totally agree. And It's also getting over analyzed because there are still so many questions that fight fans have about a prolonged engagement between Jose and Conor. Even a 2nd round KO or late 1st round KO could've told us a lot about how a fight would look between them. I mean we got 1 small exchange and that's it. 13 seconds is nothing.

there's other fighters waiting for a shot you can't just ignore Frankie Edgar who is a previous title holder in another weight class and IMO is deserving of a shot and there are others who deserve a go before Aldo gets a 3rd go at it. it's his own fault he fukked up the first one.

This is something people are overlooking. This fight has been promoted for a solid year now. You could tell people were already sick of hearing about it as the build really tapered off the last month or so. Can't see them selling this same fight again for 6 more months (which is the earliest Aldo should come back after getting stretched like that, I say he should take longer).
Aldo should take some time off, come back and get Holloway, a dangerous and top FW fighter but not a heavy hitter. He wins that, then you do a rematch.

I said I could potentially see the gray area with him telling Aldo to spit shine his shoes, though I interpreted that to be racist.

I said I could not see any gray area in terms of insults about European imperialism to an Afro-Brazilian. I feel one needs to go out of their way to not see "If this were a different time, I would come into your favela on horseback and kill everyone not fit to work" as racist considering the historical context of that being rather accurate.
huh?:why:
Where do they find "you people" :mindblown:

Yes they would. McGregor would become a rock star as a dual division champ and he's been relatively healthy. Dana would let him fukk his duaghter if he had one

Conor averages a bit more than 2.5 fights per year. Let's round that up to 3 fights per year. If he becomes a 2-division champ, he'll defend one belt once a year and the other twice a year. That's considering no injuries. No if he get's injured, he'll be holding up 2 divisions. This scenario doesn't make sense for the UFC. It makes more sense to have him as a single division champ defending 3x a year.
