kinda like God of War, Ratchet & Clank, Grand Turismo, Demon Souls, Final Fantasy VII, etc.

I don't know why people try to single out any one of these companies for rehashing IP's, when they all do it. there's nothing wrong with it IMO as long as the games are good

Nintendo plays by different rules. They have nothing to prove in terms of their brand in this industry. Microsoft, on the other hand, is not synonymous with games. Their inability to develop and market their own IPs to be sustainable longterm has them looking elsewhere for that
