They really fukked up with the last zelda...seeing as how the wii was almost dead by the time it droped..shoulda held off, made it hd and a launch title for the wii u...also, the marketing department should be fired, did they even advertise the fukking system. Meanwhile everyother commercial during the fall was for AC 3....
Also, those saying the last zelda sucked, im guessing didnt play too much of it, its a great game that was released with bad timing(like conkers bad furday for the n64)

Pikmin is only 2 generations old, and Yoshi hasn't had a console game since N64.
would it help though? their main bread comes from those IPs. When people talk about how they would like to see Nintendo become a software company they are specifically talking about those IPs.
The only IP I think that really lacks imagination is the New Super Mario Bros series, but that series i feel works perfect on handhelds, its just not a console seller.
Most systems post PS2 didn't launch with a AAA title. But still sell well in the long term. Problem is that people are justifying to pay $500+ for a new console without knowing the specs and knowing the quality of games. That is beyond stanning, that is just abuse to the pockets

True but they still have to create and grow.
At one time, Apple's main IP was the iPod when it surpassed their home computers per installable base. It did not mean that they stop re-inventing and creating new products.

It's because the heavyweight hitters haven't dropped yet. Once Smash Bros, a new Mario and some other piff drop WiiU sales is going to skyrocket because I know I'm getting one for that sole reason.
Right now though owning a Wii-U is most likely done by people with spare money or those who desire new electronics all the time.
