This idea that democrats lose midterms because "centrists" is not worth addressing since it comes from people who don't know anything about politics, but fukk it. The president's party gets washed in midterms every time. The only semi recent time it didn't happen was 2002, in the first post-911 election. In fact the president's party has only gained seats in a president's first midterm four times since the Civil War. Four times, in 160 years. Yet I'm supposed to believe the reason Obama and (soon to be) Biden lost seats is because of "centrists" and neoliberals? fukkouttahere
:gucci:

This of course coming from the same people who guaranteed Biden was gonna get washed by Trump, neoliberals can't win elections, etc. Maybe you guys should leave that twitter bubble for once and join the real world, where most people aren't socialists, most people don't dap Stalin, and most people aren't sitting around wringing their hands about the alleged failure of capitalism. Yet that's all you see on twitter lol. The same twitter that thought Nina Turner was going to win a congressional seat. Ok.

The house lost seats in the last election that happened on the democratic side. All the people who lost seats were established centrist right wing dems while established house progressive's pretty much smoked their opponents. Are you going to ignore that just like @Pressure or actually address it, especially since the Democrats way of addressing it was directly blaming black and brown people protesting for their rights costing them their races rather than asking if maybe their policies were the issues.

Do you not see the hypocrisy in all of this or is it somehow different?

Also to address the second part I've already pointed this out when you remove the propaganda aspects (Especially the ones pushed by the media) and list the policies as they are to citizens Democrat or Republican time and time again they end up agreeing (Think about the difference in response when you call it ACA vs Obamacare) with the left of center policies pushed by progressives rather than the right wing and far right policies pushed by Democrats and Republicans.

Yes I'm going to ignore it. Because it wasn't a midterm, which is the fukking point of your initial statement. I don't care about progressives winning races in New York. Good for them, but NY doesn't represent most of the country. And in terms of 2020, a house election where democrats won the popular vote margin by 3% yet lost 12 seats tells me more about gerrymandering than it does about who is centrist and who is liberal.

It is what it is. Local state and county politics is where the energy has to go. You may find lightning in some congressional primaries and you may even get a Senate candidate or two in 2022 running progressive but that’s about it.
You also gotta make a material difference in people’s lives at the lower level, which a lot of progressive politicians don’t do/want to waste time doing.

Bernie Sanders was actually improving people’s lives in Burlington. People gotta see the work, and you gotta let people know you doing the work.

Or maybe most Americans are idiots and can't be trusted to vote smart. :yeshrug:Call it elitist but it's true. To equate progressives with dapping up Stalin is an idiotic take. This is a country that gave us 8 years of Bush and 4 years of Trump. I'm gonna eat regardless but Americans deserve the politicans they get.

:mjlol:

DeSantis went to Yale and then Harvard law.

Is this the game you want to play?
Desantis is no dummy, he's only taking advantage of the stupid Floridians.:manny: Like if you're dumb enough to support a govenor who is against mask mandates in the middle of a deadly pandemic, you deserve what you get. At some point we have to start placing blame on the voters who keep electing useless politicans. It's not hard to differentiate between a con artist and someone that actually knows what they're talking about and will fight for real change.

704. Formerly 212 and 843.
1. How can a group of people be disenfranchised by the left when the left hasn’t had real representation in government going all the way back to like the 40’s-50’s.

2. when you remove the propaganda and other bullshyt almost everyone centrist right or far right favors socialistic policies over the bullshyt their fed by our two very right wing parties in government. So the idea that leftist ideas aren’t compatible here is pretty much just nonsense. Nina had the working class voters, she just didn’t get enough of them that’s all there is too it. Just gotta try again and keep the message out there

The Great Society programs of the 60s was probably the last progressive economic bills passed by the left.
