my point is, non black civil war countries and their citizens don't get glamourized like eastern Europeans do. Serbia is a shythole for euro standards and yet the phrases and words that are synonymous with them first are tough, strong, etc. Meanwhile, a black man from a black civil war country wouldn't be described in those adjective. it would be much more :mjpls:
here is an example of what I'm talking about. I remember watching the Champions League Finals about 13 years ago. and a little scuffle broke out towards the end. in the heat of exchanges, this black player taps this eastern european player from the opposing team across the mouth, the eastern european gets angry and does his whole "hold me back" impression. doesn't do anything. black player get gets a red card and sent off.
and yet, I remember mad football fans going on about how the eastern european would have whooped his ass if this was off pitch. boasted about how you don't mess with eastern europeans. when the black player who came at him and actually slapped him and showed that he was really about it, was from Ivory Coast, which had been going through a civil war for almost 2 decades. this is the type of shyt I'm getting at.

edit: hell, just read the comment section of this video :laff:

This is very very very very true. If anything they call them African brothas or brothas for Caribbean (like haiti) savages who come from war torn countries. But they are never romanticized in media and the internet or called tough guys.

That's Bobby "Crazy Eyes" Portis though :hubie::lolbron:(and Mirotic is from Montenegro, not Serbia, and played two seasons in the NBA after that)

Anyways one game suspension and fines are fair. That's what Pat Bev got when he shoved CP3 iirc
Mirotic is such a big Serb they gave him a medal :lolbron:

And you don't leave the NBA when you're a big man averaging 16 and 8 on over 35% from three unless you get your jaw broken. Be the highest player in Europe making 3 times less than Kelly Olynyk :picard:

He might be an ethnic Serb, but he's Montenegrin. It's on the same Wiki page you read. Nationality is not the same as ethnicity.

And we can talk all we want about his choices, the fact of the matter is that he played in the league for two years after the incident, proof that that incident did not "stop his NBA career".

I don't recall seeing all these posts about Serbian toughness when Bobby Portis broke Nikola Mirotic's jaw and NBA career with one punch :hubie:
That was off camera. Not the same as this action that took place at center court

Well then technically Jokic is almost in the same boat as Mirotic since he's from Vojvodina (autonomous province in the north) :patrice:

I did google Jokic's hometown though and this was the first result, so they are huge scumbags
