I want to see Ile Ife one day along with Lagos but I dont know because it seems like Nigerians willing to scrap over their Christianity, let alone the Muslim brehs. Traditional faith is not shunned and in some villages done in the open. Its called fetishes, due to multiple idol worship. Some people practice both traditional faith and modern Christianity together.

Nigerian is half Christian and Muslim. Some of our Christians will make the average white American evangelical seem like rational logical beings. So yes, they love Trump. Heck some of them really think they are Jewish descendants. They did a dna test once and the disappointment that there wasnt a drop of Jewish blood in them was stark for everyone to see.

this is interesting, i was talking to one of my nigerian friends about how she reconciles her Christianity knowing that the slave trade and colonialization basically killed traditional african religions in nigeria and is what brought christianity to her famile. she told me the reason she thinks nigeria is failing/fell victim to slavery was because of their traditional religions and not being christian back in the day...i was

It depends on what type of traditional faith you are referring to.

I'm not very learned in this area of Nigeria but I did have a small observation during my trip that ended yesterday.

If you are considered a ritualist or a herbalist you will be shunned and possibly arrested.

Reason being that ritual murders happen in Nigeria.

People murder their spouses, girlfriends/boyfriends, children and strangers etc to appease spirits.

In exchange they are expecting riches/power etc.

Go to YouTube and search for "Nigeria Money Rituals".

You will find news reports and press conferences interviewing the killers as they explain why they killed.

Nigeria is an overly religous/superstitious place.

So if it seems you are openly practicing something considered taboo my the majority around you, there will be consequences.

My cousin took me to see a movie called "Living in Bondage".

It basically was about ritual killings and how the "blood of Jesus" can save people from it's power.

In my experience, it depends on what village you are from. I remember you said you where Enugu. Enugu people are very prayerful people, so I can see why they would shun and arrest herbalist. Imo, Abia, Anambra,and etc is a different story.

Let me explain. I am in Enugu right now sitting on my aunt's couch. Is her house a shythole?

The roads are made of dirt, there are sink holes, trash everywhere. Basic shyt the government should be maintaining they don't maintain.

So the average Nigerian was happy when Trump said that because it shines the light on the corrupt Nigerian government.

If they hate stuff like trash being on the street, what's stopping them from getting with some friends and getting it cleaned up?

I feel it's one of the negatives of being the first on earth. Others can unite more because the character trait of seperation had to be diluted or they wouldn't be able to survive. Remember the people who are running the world have traits that came about only 6000-8000 years ago. "White skin", and straight hair is a recent phenomonon, yet these are the people who run things now, including east Asians who conquered their darker curly haired people in the southeast. They were forced to unite, while we can't let the fighting go.

In a way racism in the West was a blessing because it forces.us to unite,.but as you can see, that trait is hard to let go
