Above the fray.
Where is Igbo land, what are the natural resources. What types of conflicts existed in the region pre colonization? How were those conflicts exploited by England during colonization?
Which ethnic group has dominated govt. positions nationwide since independence?
What is the relationship between Igbos and other groups since independence?
Why did they want to separate from the rest of Nigeria before?
What has led to the resurgence of the separation movement?

Nigerians travel and are everywhere.....where is the biggest Igbo diasporan group(which country?)

What are they doing to publicize the atrocities?

Thanks...

I ask these questions of anybody who feels like answering them objectively . I recognize that people are DYING, but I'd like to see how Nigerans agree or disagree about the root of the issues.

my brother, the military are the military , they just kill and go

But the problem is this

we both know the Nigerian military

did the idiot really think that he could speak violence and they would do nothing????

what the fukk was he thinking???

and now while he is safe innocent people have been killed ....

I would even have a bit of respect for him if he were armed and ready to fight , at least then I would think it was a deliberate plan

but to simply run off his mouth and then be surprised at the outcome which anyone who knows anything about the nigerian military would have predicted is beyond me ....

the funny thing is a lot of Yorubas I know and even some Hausas dont have a problem with Biafra agitation , but no one wants to be insulted on a daily basis.... and the best thing he could do is to tone down the rhetoric and be more diplomatic

It is in no ones interest for this to escalate .......

the good thing is that the military are now going to withdraw, and hopefully things will calm down but the damage is already done

he is partly responsible for the deaths of those innocent people ...... the dude is fukking irresponsible

I'm VERY hesitant to blame Kanu for the murders committed by the Nigerian military. The rational and moral connection between Kanu, "Buhari is a dog" and Nigerian soldiers torturing, raping and killing is VERY LOOSE.

We risk absolving them of any morally disgusting behaviour

If the Nigerian government keeps playing games then shyt WILL pop off.

It would be genocide ...

when Boko Harem was in its first encounter Obasonjo was president, he was an ex army guy like Buhari .... he sent the soldiers in and they slaughtered everyone.... you never heard from Boko Harem again until Johnathon who wasnt ex army became president ...

it would be the same, buhari is an army man, they only know one language, the Nigerian army is ruthless and to be honest if it were back in the day they would have killed everything with a pulse ...

kanu is even alienating a lot of his own people with his rhetoric .... he needs to just town down his language and threats and just learn to be more diplomatic

His problem is that he sees it in black and white whereas to a lot of people its more complex

if you are for Biafra then you must hate Nigeria and other tribes, If you are for Nigeria then you hate Biafra and Igbos ..... thats how he frames all of his arguments..... you are either for us or against us

most people on both sides of the argument dont feel that way ...

The good thing is that everyone across the board is condemning the military action so maybe those idiots will soon return to the Forest and fight the real terrorists

Igbos are a 34 million strong ethnic group in Nigeria. Many Igbos were taken to America as slaves, primarily in Virginia and Maryland. If your family is from that region of the US, you likely have Igbo ancestry.
what kind of RIGHT TO RETURN program (see Jewish/Israel Right to Return program for example) does Nigeria (or any W. African country) have for its forgotten sons and daughters?

my friend kanu is not responsible for that, Buhari and his thugs are responsible for the carnage and murders they have caused,

and like i said earlier he is being condemned by everyone even some Northerners .....

my problem with kanu is him beating the war drums knowing that these idiots would just need the flimsiest excuse to turn to violence

he should have known better .....

Me putting the questions back up wasn't an indictment of your responses. And, again I thank you for taking the time to inform us.

I've been in touchy topics before involving ethnic conflicts. When the guy came in and claimed that this thread was filled with misinformation, I wanted to hear what his take was on the background of the issue.

Normally despite their sides on the CURRENT situation, people can agree on the historical background of the issue. Or they have to admit that they don't know enough to answer the questions, and a lot of the arguing stops.

Either way, it de-escalates the tension.

you turn up , you apply for a passport or citizenship , then you find a job or a hustle ....

to be honest you dont even need to apply for citizenship, i know a lot of AAs and Carribeans that have been living there for years without bothering

Yes and all Africans are not the same people, which is why they do this to us, just like they hunted us for Cacs in the 1700's.

Know your true identity and the truth is revealed. We are not black, African, Egyptian or negro. We are the lost tribes of Israel. Israelites. The children of the most high. The holy bloodline chosen to inherit Dominion of the Earth for eternity.

The spirit of the most high dwells in us and we are the heroes who have been fighting on the front line against Satan and his evil horde of CAC devils since they slithered out the caves during the crusades(Mongols/Turks aka gog & MAGOG)

Nigeria doesn't have it and yet they pay for Nigerians to attend pilgrimages to Mecca and to Jerusalem  :mjpls:

Only Ghana has right of return

Some Hausa elites believe any agitation is a drumbeat for war. Hence why Uwazurike, who was Gandhian in terms of philosophy, was imprisoned and tortured for years.

It doesn't matter what we say, to be honest. Anything we say is "War"

To be honest the harsh rhetoric is needed, igbo people are too soft, any angle where their could be a possibility of a restructuring of Nigeria they will take it.

If nnamdi took a soft approach, it would have yielded the same result because it is all about the empowering of the average igbo person, specifically in south East nigeria.

As far as I'm concerned not every igbo person can escape to london, to America, to lagos or abuja it is not possible. In terms of other ethnic they've shown who they are in the past and they have no reason to change. So I implore the international community to help, because we are dealing with animals.
