Waiting for the PS5 upgrade but looks piff

its 1080p 60fps on ps4, i don't think its getting an upgrade tbh

Alright, I've played the first couple of hours. Impressions:

Positives:

-> Combat is improved over Automata imo.
-> Story is pretty cool, as is the sense of exploration.
-> Bosses have been excellent so far.

Negatives:

-> Soundtrack is nowhere near as good as Automata.
-> Variety of ordinary enemies is non-extistent.
-> Definitely looks like it doesn't have the budget Automata had.

All in all I'm really enjoying it, ARPG fans are spoiled between this and Ys9.

Subjective as fukk and not whole-heartedly true. They're about equal actually.

You are literally the first person I've heard say this. Hell everyone says the OST on this is trash compared to the original.

The original OST inspired the second one. It was classic when it first dropped and still classic now. Illmatic ain't trash just cuz Stillmatic dropped the following decade.

TBF Automata only really became "special" once you went through the endings and the story's craziness become obvious. Need to let the story breathe on this one, like all Taro games.

Interested in the @Gizmo_Duck review. I know it sounds weird but we seem to like the same jrpgs. My frenemy also the most in tune with my tastes when it comes to this genre

Prob won’t cop until late may, maybe. trying not to do this build a back log shyt anymore

I didn't p[lay the OG but it seems like the consensus is that this OST version is nowhere near as good. I haven't been strucked by it in the same way Automata struck me from the get goi.
