Alright, I've played the first couple of hours. Impressions:

Positives:

-> Combat is improved over Automata imo.
-> Story is pretty cool, as is the sense of exploration.
-> Bosses have been excellent so far.

Negatives:

-> Soundtrack is nowhere near as good as Automata.
-> Variety of ordinary enemies is non-extistent.
-> Definitely looks like it doesn't have the budget Automata had.

All in all I'm really enjoying it, ARPG fans are spoiled between this and Ys9.

The original game was a low budget game with limited everything, but because it had a cult following they were able to make automata

Lowkey, I had this feeling coming into this one. I feel like people are gonna remember the highs of Automata's story (I mean its justified since it had the best story out of any JRPG from last-gen) and come out disappointed. One thing people overlook the fact that Automata at times was repetitive and there were aspects of the combat that wasn't fun.

I'm still looking forward to this when the price drops to $30-40. I would have gotten this day 1 but square wanted to charge me $30+ for shipping for the White Snow edition.
