Ak explains it best. His label bought 200,000 albums ahead of time and coupled it with his merch. So whenever a fan bought a t-shirt or tour pass it came with a digital album.

Nicki tried to do it last minute but couldnt, so her shyt came with a digtial access code to download her album instead. Which most people aint got time to be doing all that especially when the album was already on streaming services.

Travis Merch came with a instant digital copy that counted as a sale for billboard whether the fans downloaded/redemed it or not. So all the merch shyt he sold was going towards his sales. Some real lowbro sneaky shyt, if a artist like Post Malone did that the torches would of came out.

:dwillhuh:

shyt like this is why bragging on record sales from your fav artist should be invalid these days. They straight up moving the goal post right in your face.

But the thing is, not everyone can just do that.

Very few artists have the pulse of the streetwear game. Travis Scott is one of them.. guys like Playboi Carti and Asap Rocky can follow the same blueprint and be successful.. obviously Kanye could as well..

But not just anyone could throw out merch with an album and expect it to move em. Travis brand is hyped in the streetwear game, just look at the price of this shirt

That shirt was on his site for what, 60 bucks? Nobody is flocking to buy and resell Post Malone gear. It’s not as simple as y’all make it seem

J. Cole is one of the biggest artists in music but if he threw out 160 dollar dreamville hoodies and said whoever buys one gets a digital version of the album, that shyt would collect dust as nikkas streamed his album on Spotify. There’s no market for a fukkin dreamville hoodie. That shyt ain’t sought after..

Travis simply pimped the streetwear game, where his name holds weight to the youngin’s. Can’t be mad at that

Maybe u should read thoroughly before responding. Check the bolded.
Alot of these bytches be way too disrespectful to nikkas. Now if a nikka got a bytch to put hands and feet on em for disrespecting his girl and his seed he would be wrong. From A Banks, to Nicki, to Teyana Taylor. They all need the beats.

Get the fukk outta here with his arbitrary fake outrage over business politics in the music game. Like a post Malone hasn't had the industry pulling all kinds of tricks and stunts for him to be successful.
