I don’t know why you are speaking at length on the basics of football and who these guys were supposed to be coming out of college. They do not separate from defenders very well in our amongst the bottom half of the league and doing so. I’m sorry… But most quarterbacks struggle with bad wide receiver cores.My understanding of Rashee Rice coming out of SMU was that he was more a contested catch/YAC guy. Skyy Moore is more of a slot/underneath type of guy.
If you've got guys who are more slot/RPO/bubble screen guys that need the ball quickly and in space to get YAC, they'll probably have a bit of a learning curve when adjusting to a improviser-type QB such as Patrick Mahomes who excels in -- among other situations -- off-script/creating downfield when the original play breaks down.
The most consistent pass-catcher he has is Kelce and part of that is the fact that Kelce honestly doesn't have a route tree and instead runs to get open. He sees the game as Mahomes does.
