My understanding of Rashee Rice coming out of SMU was that he was more a contested catch/YAC guy. Skyy Moore is more of a slot/underneath type of guy.

If you've got guys who are more slot/RPO/bubble screen guys that need the ball quickly and in space to get YAC, they'll probably have a bit of a learning curve when adjusting to a improviser-type QB such as Patrick Mahomes who excels in -- among other situations -- off-script/creating downfield when the original play breaks down.

The most consistent pass-catcher he has is Kelce and part of that is the fact that Kelce honestly doesn't have a route tree and instead runs to get open. He sees the game as Mahomes does.
I don’t know why you are speaking at length on the basics of football and who these guys were supposed to be coming out of college. They do not separate from defenders very well in our amongst the bottom half of the league and doing so. I’m sorry… But most quarterbacks struggle with bad wide receiver cores.

I think sometimes people purposely want to make football sounds complicated because they just don’t want to accept simple truths

he doesnt have any wrs
I’m not taking anything away from Mahomes but it amazes me that valid excuses only work for certain QBs on here, burrow not being 100% was a valid excuse but people on here wasn’t trying to hear that they were going with they move

I’ve seen many quarterbacks in here talked about having no weapons. Many.

That was a scout team offensive line that played today. Al Wood tearing his achilles is going to hurt the run defense

Yea. But the Jets as a team are playing hard and that is a credit to Robert Saleh. As a 49ers fan I think of Saleh like a Mike Singletary in the sense that both men got the losing culture off the team and at least Saleh is smart enough to trust his offensive coaching and personnel.

Also I am seeing Zach Wilson mature as a person and its reflecting on his QBing. Not that he was ever a 'bad kid' per se but I said this when they beat the Eagles but it is clear Rodgers gave him some good advice on top of just being older.

Ravens score was closer than the actual game was. Unfortunately I had the -9.5.
:francis:

Lamar looks really good yet I’m not hearing much talk about MVP or top 5-10 QB rankings. I wonder why…..

Also saw the Vikings/Packers game and uhhh….Packers look finished. Love is bad, to the point I wonder what they do in the draft. Expecting him to be great in his first starting season would be dumb, and I wouldn’t write him off personally but given how strong this draft is at QB…I can def imagine the Packers drafting one within the first two rounds.

I keep hearing that Love was a victim of some big drops yesterday

Love has been on the bench learning the system for what 3 years now? I had high expectations for him and I don’t think it was unrealistic to expect that out him

He has to have the perfect situation to win. We cant win shootouts with him with key guys missing he cant win us games. I blame kyle for this naturally. Theres a reason why he was the LAST pick in the draft. It is what it is. We better get healthy off this bye week

Eh. I will say this. If you take into account his good games and his bad games Brock Purdy has played way above his draft status.

He can do a lot of things better than Jimmy Garapollo who was a second round pick.

Purdy is also only 23 and his issues are mostly mental

I do agree a good chunk of the blame falls on Kyle Shanahan. He isn't using the strengths the 49er do have to the best effect. This something Jim Harbaugh was better at.

ALL the time.

Has he not been on this site over the years?
This site is one of the few places that even had defenders. Many still gave up and wrote him off. And even then, some people here were turning on him as well.
