They don’t have to decide right away they can sign Sam and still keep JJ on his rookie deal another season before trading him

But the longer you wait the more likely you can’t fleece a team. This is the perfect off season to trade JJ. There are only 2 potential first round QBs in the draft and both are suspect. If you are gonna get a first for JJ it’s gonna be this year.

Next year there might be 4-5 QBs in the first round easy and all likely better prospects than JJ. Maybe more
