The goal is not to catch soccer, that's an impossibility, it however will be the second most popular sport in the world soon if it isn't already.

The world is starting to care about the NBA, hence a dude from the slums of Brazil being on your team

It already is second most popular sport and 3rd most popular league but its a very distant second and third...
A few brasilians in the league and maybe the olympics next year will help,but if youve been to brasil you know theres virtually no NBA/basketball presence there that i saw...Theres small pockets globally mostly in places where they have set up NBA cares and academies for kids and where theres a few players in the league (Greece,Italy)

But the global recognition is alot smaller than what you think it is,all you have to do is travel a lil to see that...

Even in China its not as big as you think it is....People think cuz a million chinese voted in the ASG but there 2 billion ppl in the country,million is like 250k in america....
