They are advertising a product that’s known to kill, in underprivileged neighborhoods. Show me those ads in majority white or upscale neighborhoods and you have an argument.

never once did I think “hmm let me go get a pack of Newports :jbhmm:” cuz I know what they do and nikkas do too.

And back in the early 2000s. Tobacco companies would post up at college campuses and give out free packs of cigarettes in exchange for people information to send them discount coupons and other things.

I only met two white boys in my life that smoked Ports. Both of them swore they was black tho. They probably stopped marketing to cacs in the 80s. You would never see a Newport ad in a Time or Rollingstone magazine
