This is not true. Both girls were very respected by older artists. Whitney said Monica scared her because she reminded her of her younger self when they worked on the preachers wife soundtrack together. Monica's first album was titled "miss thang" because the industry thought no 16 year old had any right to be singing with the skill and conviction of an adult. Both girls are great vocalist

I don’t think she overdoes it either, but she slips on notes. You actually posted a song where she slips. Christina was a one trick gimmick. Monica is much more than that.

I used loudness because she’s almost always showing off her voice’s power and sharpness. Her voice is a statement without the theatrics of Marsha Ambrosius, Teena Marie, Christina, etc.

That still doesn’t make her a better vocalist than Brandy.

I didn’t know I cared so much until I got in the thread. We’re learning from each other. This might be the most positive thread in thecoli right now.

I recently kind of felt iffy about Toni Braxton, while riding with the fam to a pumpkin patch. That thread might start some real fights though.
