Honestly.......it makes no sense.

It took some folks a year or more to cop after launch. I got mine ON launch night and don't feel the need to upgrade already.

Good option for people that stuck with PS4 and are just now looking to upgrade....but who hasn't gotten a PS5 that wants one now?

The ps4 sold 117M+ consoles

The ps5 sold about 46-48m so far. Its not that complicated.

And this isn’t an upgrade its a refresh, the same thing has happened for every console generation since the NES

The "Playstation" servers will go down? Like the PS3 server that's shut down now preventing anyone with a PS3 17 years later from updating their firmware right?

and to top it off there are already millions of disc based PS5s in the market, so how exactly is this effecting game preservation? On top of the PS5 Slim has TWO versions, digital and physical. If it was going against disc preservation it wouldn't even be possible this generation.

Compared to the next Xbox that has been leaked as being digital only, at least you have a choice here.

So the day the "servers" go off is the day Sony Playstation as an entity no longer exists and even then, there were millions of physical PS5 consoles sold already as well as a physical slim PS5 so this point about game preservation being removed was kind of premature.
