Marvel has been doing more of this lately with the diversity thing. I rather they create new heroes/identities and give them their own fanbase and legacy than try to change their flagship heroes. I wonder if it's (lack of) creativity or financial concerns.

This. ^

Then again American comics are shyt so it's whatever. :yeshrug:

I actually agree with this.

Blue Marvel would be the best recent example, a completely new character, new powers (yes it's the basic superman package plus energy manipulation), a story unrelated to any other character. A new character >>>>>> Replacements added in for the sake of "diversity".

Especially since the writers and creators will be white. If she is gay and her love interest is white, you can't tell me this isn't pandering.

On the other hand it could end up like Miles Morales and be a huge success. At least she is a genius though, good to see intelligent black characters.

Edit: Her suit looks Basura. Hope a redesign happens stat.
they already did big brother with mosaic , drop the same year

:beli:Its a dumb idea and they are gonna ruin the franchise like ghost-busters... these SJW feminists lack creativity..and they envy male creative energy....they dont wanna create something new they wanna usurp successful male dominated franchises....then they end up killing them

i guess thats "progress" in 2016

NO
Bendis is a horrible writer, and this isn't original at all...the real comic company, DC, already have a black female technical genius who has a suit of high-tech gagetry/technofreak and her name is Natasha Irons. Marvel ain't fukking slick :pacspit:

Thor isn't a costume nor exactly a title

It is lesser known... but In Marvel comics, all species have their own Thor. So there is a dog thor, a cat thor, etc.
(Frog Thor is the former leader of the Pet Avengers btw)...
th

But there are other humanoid variants as well.
See... Miljhionor (I'm sure I spelled that wrong:snoop:) grants whomever wields it the powers of Thor no different than someone else wearing Ironman's armor to be the new Ironman. Over the years Miljonor/Thor's powers have been wielded by numerous people other than the traditional son of Odin.

This is the original Thor.
th

But he is eventually replaced by Eric Masterson.
Because they are both blonde and buff most ppl assume he got a new look, but no... its a completely different person than the original, he just carries on the mantle.
Thunderstrike (Eric Masterson) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Then later when the 1st Thor comes back he eventually gets his own hammer... but for a long while he wields Miljonoir as Thor.

Same with Beta Ray Bill.

So "Thor" is a mantle. At one point I think Loki takes it over as well... if I recall.

No need to do that.

Strange industry...while dealing with all fictional characters, they will give you a bunch of excuses why Bond or Jason Bourne shouldn't be black, but willingly change the race of popular comic book heros

I don't understand why is this too difficult to understand for the movie industry

I don't need flagship heroes to be different gender, race and sexuality to be interested in the story

Develop new characters / concepts and/or invest in already existing black comic book heros

Marvel is clearly shaking things up alot now with diversity.

its jarring and refreshing.

One the right side

Miss america, latin
Spiderman black/latin
Ironman black girl
Ms marvel (kamala Khan) Pakistani
Prowler black guy
Moon girl Black girl
Mosiac black dude

This is something black people should actually support. Even if you think its a cash grab....

the stories need to be good to be supported.

The intention is good, but why are they so uncreative? Why are there still so few original minority or LGBT characters? These alternate version characters never last anyway, it's just a way for Marvel to make headlines for a second.
