First of all, if Miles father is a black American, and is married to his Hispanic mother, how in the world does he have MORALES as his last name? :mjlol:

I mean should'nt his father be latino, or a black latino?

This is part of the reason why Bendis sucks ass. He cannot create a good black character, or have good character development for the best of him. I mean come on, RIRI?? :mjlol:

with all the other stupid shyt surrounding miles, i feel ashamed that i never even thought of that. has bendis said anything about it?

I just don't like legacy characters period. And in the big two (Marvel and DC) most of their black characters are legacy characters, Marvel more so. And I don't like Riri because she is a blatant ripoff of Natasha Irons. A super-intelligent, tehno-savy black female teen with her own powersuit, nah that's been done before: She is not original at all.

A list of comic books created and owned by black writers/artists

James Bond is a intellectual property written and owned by whites, so they could put whoever they want as his actor. If they don't want to USE a black man as Bond, then they have every right to do so. Who are we to complain about that? Just the same as the Freeman brothers shouldn't be played by white boys. If Elba or Cuba want to play a black spy, then they should create and produce their own franchise. Black people look pathetic complaining to white studios begging for us to be put in THEIR movies and intellectual properties. This goes not only for Bond but for other established characters. IF black hollywood could pool their resources together then we could see more positive black characters and positive black relationships on screen instead of begging and pleading for the white man to let us play his characters. But we don't think like that because we think the white man's ice is colder, and a black Bond is better then a black owned and black created international spy.

All in all, fukk a black Bond, fukk a legacy character, fukk Riri, fukk Miles, fukk Bendis, and fukk Marvel for not being orginal. :pacspit:

I don't believe in the concept of intellectual property. Once you put an idea into the world creative license dictates that people can shape, mold, play with, create whatever they want to with the idea. I don't think blks should beg for representation but I also don't see anything wrong with them being depicted in fictional worlds either.

As for Riri's characterization, I will reserve judgement until I actually see what they are going to do with her. However for me it isn't that much of a stretch to envision Tony Stark taking one of his brilliant scholars under his wing or seeing potential in a new mind. Why it's a problem that this mind is inside a blk female body is beyond me.

And yes. I too long for the day when blk Hollywood will get it together and represent more than thug movies, dysfunctional blk romances and blk men emasculated by crossdressing. But that still doesn't take away from a very cool rendering of a young smart blk female being introduced to Marvel.

Btw thanks for the link to the blk comic creators.

If u haven't already check out Blk and Sexy tv on YouTube. It's an independent blk film company that has created AMAZING short films.

That's not how it works. Unless the character or franchise is in the public domain, then it is owned by some someone or some entity. If you want to make money off of Harry Potter, then you have to consult with JK Rolling, same with LOTR, Bond, etc. People can create fan-fiction and fan art, but they cannot make MONEY off of someone's intellectual property unless its from consent from the owner of the property. These studios have to PURCHASE the idea if they want to mold it to their vision. ANd do you realize those fictional worlds are still owned by whites? So they could still put whoever they want in it.

As for me, the concept of a techno-savy black female teen genius is not original at all, and is a legacy character on top of that.

And yes. I too long for the day when blk Hollywood will get it together and represent more than thug movies, dysfunctional blk romances and blk men emasculated by crossdressing. But that still doesn't take away from a very cool rendering of a young smart blk female being introduced to Marvel.
