They had some payroll flexibility this off season with Reyes, Beltran, Gimpy, Ollie, and Krod being off the books and they still spent nothing. Rumors were they could have traded for relievers if they ate money and they still didn't. The Wilpon's are broke and it will remain this way for a while.
