Nobody is saying that WWE hiring black female writers is bad, stop dap fishing :camby:

It's great that Black people are being hired. Lord knows the lily white world of wrestling needs some outside perspective.

But when you hire someone who is practically bragging about that she knows nothing about the characters she's written for and she doesn't even know who the main character of the show is, that's a bad look. She wouldn't be allowed to get away with this if she was on any other TV staff, let alone a non-entertainment job. Imagine being at your job and openly bragging to your colleagues that you don't have any product knowledge after weeks on the job, you think people would be impressed with you? You'd be let go so fast.

Congrats to that sister for getting that job.

This is 100% a good thing. You need diversity in these rooms. And not just black or woman, but OUTSIDE.

Anybody can be brought up to speed on how wrestling works. Yall in here being dramatic.
If they actually care about the business/product then yeah. If they don't then no.

This. While it would be most ideal IMO, one doesn't have to have encyclopedic knowledge on pro wrestling. But the brehette barely knows the name of the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Come on, now.

That company could have hired my brother for that role. But if he doesn't know the product then on the surface, it's a shaky hire, breh.

Diversity is great and all. Need more of it in workplaces all over. That said, if I were a hiring manager my first concern is whether or not the person brought in can do the job at a competent level or better, ideally better.

I really don't understand WWE's weird fixation with hiring comedy writers. None of the shyt they have scripted out for these wrestlers to say is ever funny.
Like, you are basically making a soap opera so hire some fukking writers who have experience writing TV dramas. At least then you could get storylines that are interesting and well set up with a beginning, a middle and an end to them.

But Vince is hiring no name comedians to write shytty cornball jokes for his pro wrestlers like he's running the Chuckle Hut or something.

This is the same company that hired writers like vince russo who didn't know absolute shyt about wrestling. Pick whatever decade you want, it's the same thing. Congrats to the new writers, but it's very likely they'll be just doing what they are told to do. That's how WWE operates. It's a shyt company that's always gonna have some fans, because if you really want to watch professional wrestling, then there is not much to choose from.

What does that have to do with the writing though?

Vince has the final say so when it comes to booking decisions and who wins/loses or are we going to pretend otherwise :usure:

why yall bytching about what kind of writers they hire then if vince just has the final say so :skip:

I'm not the one bytching?

In a way, I was actually defending Vince. I flat out said that people complaining about Vince selling the company are going to have hard realization that the the new company is going to bring in writers as well that have no knowledge or background pertaining to wrestling either.
