Steven Avery's new attorney says she's confident his conviction will be vacated

Chicago lawyer Kathleen Zellner on Friday, January 8th announced she is teaming up with the Midwest Innocence Project. The Law Firm of Kathleen T. Zellner and Associates has assumed representation of Avery in all of his pending criminal matters.

FOX6 News reached out to Zellner for an interview on Monday. Zellner said in a statement she is not doing interviews about this case right now — and that they are examining Avery’s legal options.

Zellner said they will present new evidence to “the appropriate court.”
