well thought out theory breh....
But...
You're dead wrong about Steven being the only person with time to burn a body on that day...Bobby Dassey and Scott Tadych both had time on their hands to commit this murder out in the quarry...Scott claimed he didn't go to work that day so he can visit his mother...He was home around the same time Bobby and Brendan were and admitted to seeing Teresa...Bobby's alibi is that Scott saw him at around 4pm...but that doesn't mean either one of them couldn't have ambushed Teresa up the road when she was done with Steve...
As far as the bleach is concerned I don't believe it was proven as fact the garage was bleached that night and Dean Strand said dear blood was all over the garage...I believe the whole bleach story was something Brendan said and as we know he made up a lot of shyt...Like raping and killing Teresa three times...slit her throat, strangled her and shot her 11 times...That's a lot of blood to bleach out breh and they didn't find a single strand of evidence in Steves trailer and garage where Brendan said these events took place (the contaminated bullet doesn't count for obvious reasons)...So it's hard for me to believe two inbred hicks with a combined IQ of 130 are on Dexter Morgans forensic game...These dumb fukks would probably end up suffocating themselves trying to setup a kill room...
That said I don't believe in Steve's innocence...I'm 50/50 on him and that's because they botched the investigation...The only thing I'm pretty sure of is the only part Brendan may have had in this crime is assist with the body...That kid did not rape or kill anybody....
Brendan's bleached jeans wee part of the trial. His own mother noticed that his jeans were bleached when he got in.
As far as the timeline:
morning: Teresa leaves a voicemail stating she can stop by for the photo assignment that afternoon around 2:00 p.m. "or even a little later."
2:27 p.m.: Teresa receives a phone call from Auto Trader lasting 5 minutes. (*)
2:30 p.m.: Bobby Dassey testifies this is Teresa’s arrival time.
(around) 2:30 p.m.: There are two phone calls from Steven’s cellphone to Teresa’s cellphone, using the [star]67 feature to block caller identification. One lasted 7 seconds and the other was apparently hung up before being answered. (*)
2:30 - 2:45 p.m.: Scott Tadych testifies this is when he returns from visiting his mother in the hospital. He further states he saw flames from Steven's bonfire later that evening reaching 10' tall.
(just before) 3:00 p.m.: Scott Tadych testifies he departs to go deer hunting at this time.
2:41 p.m.: There is no physical activity on Teresa’s cellphone after this point (based on testimony from Tony Zimmerman, a Cingular Wireless network engineer).
2:45 - 3:00 p.m.: Bobby Dassey testifies he leaves in this timeframe to go bow hunting.
3:15 p.m.: In his statement to police on November 29, this is the time Scott Tadych claims to have returned home. He says the flames from Steven's bonfire were only 3' tall during this interview.
3:30 - 3:40 p.m.: Lisa Buchner, high school bus driver, testifies she drops off the Dassey boys during this window and sees Teresa photographing the van.
3:40 p.m.: Bobby Dassey testifies he departs at this time and Teresa’s vehicle is still in the driveway, but no Teresa.
4:35 p.m.: There is a call from Steven’s cell phone to Teresa’s cellphone, not using the blocking feature and lasting 13 seconds. (*)
5:36 p.m.: Steven receives a call from his fiancée Jodi from Manitowoc County Jail; they talk for 15 minutes.
7:00 p.m.: According to Brendan’s final story, this is when Steven calls and invites him to the bonfire.
8:57 p.m.: Steven receives a second call from Jodi; she has the impression he is already in bed.
Tadych leaves at 3:00 and Dassey at 3:40. The bus driver sees her at 3:30 or 3:40 taking pictures. I do believe her and do believe she was alive at that point. Who is the sole person with hella free time after that juncture? The next time Steve is doing anything (besides the 13 second call at 4:35 to Teresa's phone) is 5:36 when he talks to Jodi.
