I can't imagine trying to convince hardcore scientists of anything of faith, as I couldn't imagine trying to convince hardcore evangelists of matters of science.
Faith fills the gap between the explainable and the unexplainable. The ancient babylonians believed that a sun god protected them because they didn't understand eclipses (I completely made that up but the point stands), a scientist might discount anything that isn't explainable thru the scientific method or "theory" which, IMO, is the scientific form of faith.
It is a pointless argument. Most people I come across believe a good amount of both. The science we see, the theory that makes sense, the scripture that applies to modern life, and the space between is faith.

That's a silly comparison. A theory needs to be tested and proven multiple times. Also, if new evidence arises then that will be tested to see if that is true. Faith relies on belief and even when presented with contradictory evidence one must stick with their belief to strengthen their faith

A scientific theory seeks to prove how or why but cannot be proven thru math or pure observation. That is the scientific equivalent of faith, to me. Faith also can change based on society and understanding of the world. MOST christians actually believe dinosaurs existed, believe it or not...MANY believe in evolution, but believe the 'how' is God...that God designed/guided evolution...that is an evolution of faith.
That said, i'm not trying to convince you because like I said, I don't argue pointless arguments.
