I think there's a very reasonable conversation going on right now. that's why I asked you before what you find so unreasonable. I don't see any kind of strong voice behind something like an all out ban on guns. it just seems like a strawman

There are things that make sense for sure. Sadly, like most political things in America, only the polarized aspects are heard. Truth be told MOST things in America are solvable, or at least in a position where progress could be made if there was less polarization of views.

Pitbulls are not natural killers. The American Kennel Club actually recommends against using Pits as guard dogs because they're too friendly. In order to turn a pitbull into a weapon, you have to abuse/train it in a certain way.

Guns are made specifically to kill. They have no other use, and their original function is as weaponry.

Not everyone who buy guns are natural killers. In order to turn a man into a homocidal maniac his development from childhood has to be mismanaged. All you have to do is pick up a knife and put it in someones back, whats your point. Its the intent behind the person with the weapon, not so much the weapon itself. Weapons dont make you kill someone. Yes it is made to kill but human beings have a right to protect themselves with guns. Progress gets stifled when we're trying to interpret a 200+ year old document for matters of today. Not saying we should burn the constitution but we should most definitely start acting like the united states is bigger and more diverse then it was in 1776.

What does any of this have to do with owning a gun? The guns in question and not the guns committing most of these crimes. Where does the ban logic come from. Just something we should be doing right now for the hell of it?

i agree sorta. Just not on this particular issue. And not so much that i think we should have guns, but more pragmatically because of the past 200 years they are a part of America. any attempt at fuking with the culture of america is usually met with hostility, this is no different.

The issue is so polarized that common sense and logic are thrown in the bushes. You got people comparing guns to diseases and car accidents, while politicians avoid closing harmful loopholes and avoid the problems that are in the laws we already have in place.

Well the sandy hook shooter was denied an assault rifle because of gun laws meanwhile kids are getting shot in chicago despite a gun ban. I dont think you even know where to begin to solve this problem but i do.

problem with new gun law is that they affect already responsible gun owners

I am pro gun but I have no problem with limiting the amount of guns that can be purchased or with registering your weapon

but the biggest problem I have is with the lack of power the government has over gun sellers and the gun show exception for a background check from unlicensed sellers

I believe people do have the right to own guns. I believe if you aren't apart of a state sponsored militia or national guard then you don't need a full auto assault weapon or semi auto shotgun. I am more worried about my state and local government than I am the federal government(for now).
