What you are saying is true and all, but there is a caveat. There are plenty of Sisters who tell Brothers we need to stay out of their business when it comes to issues like hair, eyelashes, etc. So they can't out of one side of their mouth say they do it because of the way we treat them when they don't, but then out of the other side tell us to shut up when we speak out against the very thing they say they do because they believe we like it.

I.E. they can't tell us to not speak on the dangers and problems concerning them getting perms one moment, then the next moment use us as the reason for why they are getting perms.

White women have historically been the standard of beauty, white men controlling the media that promotes it, it is in no way shape or form absurd to suggest this having a profound impact on black women, and men. We still see it to this day, look to east asia, they cut their faces, put in the contacts, and dye their hair to be close to white. The less asian you appear, the more you a promoted even in their own controlled spaces. China was upset that an asian women was depicted as "overly asian" in a Mercedes ad. In every country where opposite ends of the spectrum of color shades are present, those closest to white are the stars, look at India, look at Brazil.


See, this is why we need to get away from this free will nonsense, everything makes more sense when you treat people as agents susceptible to influence, from there it becomes so easy to trace the lines to origin, the origin of the problem. An inability to see that the world functions in this manner is simply an admission to a lack of agency, imo. Still, Black men are being blamed in general instead of it being admitted that it is some who prefer sisters with perms. Then when those of us mention that there are many of us brothers who do not prefer our women have perms, from being apathetic about it to actually preferring natural hair, we are many times told to stay out of Black women's business. That is why I am saying we can't be used as an excuse for sisters wearing perms when we are told to not even voice our dissent and desire for the opposite of permed hair. Neither can we be used as an excuse when our complaints about it all are responded to with statements of "We do this for ourselves, not for men."

This is true,its fairly obvious black women are the main proponents for straight hair. Obviously its due to their programming. But its women who Ive mostly seen clown their daughters for their hair being nappy. Putting pressure on their daughters to get there hair "done". Which 9 times outta 10 means get it cooked or put a weave in it.


Im not with accussing black women of wanting to be white. I dont believe that not in the slightest. I just believe they have been programmed since childhood. And many feel naked and too vulnerable without it.


This is where the black man comes in. We should be teaching our women about the technologies of their hair. And teaching them about the dangers of these chemicals. While most importantly giving positive reinforcement to the women who do keep a beautiful natural look. But instead,we as black men would rather focus our energy towards berating women with weaves. But one day you all will realize the power of indifference and being righteously unnaffected. If you praise and compliment the natural women and ignore the others. The natural women will continue,based on the positive reinforcement like Pavlovs dog. And I can assure the others will follow suit to recieve the same attention and admiration of their men. I really don’t like how some brehs approach this topic because many of you don’t acknowledge the way white society treats Blackness and black HAIR. Black women have been discriminated against because of our natural hair. Some of our men have made it clear they prefer “looser hair” and women have tried to fit that look with chemical relaxers. I mean, brehs treat me differently when my hair is in braids VS out and straightened, and EVERY Black woman will tell you that.
