White women have historically been the standard of beauty, white men controlling the media that promotes it, it is in no way shape or form absurd to suggest this having a profound impact on black women, and men. We still see it to this day, look to east asia, they cut their faces, put in the contacts, and dye their hair to be close to white. The less asian you appear, the more you a promoted even in their own controlled spaces. China was upset that an asian women was depicted as "overly asian" in a Mercedes ad. In every country where opposite ends of the spectrum of color shades are present, those closest to white are the stars, look at India, look at Brazil.

See, this is why we need to get away from this free will nonsense, everything makes more sense when you treat people as agents susceptible to influence, from there it becomes so easy to trace the lines to origin, the origin of the problem. An inability to see that the world functions in this manner is simply an admission to a lack of agency, imo. Because think about it, in propaganda, advertisement, and similar fields of influence, at the core of that, is recognition that agents can be heavily influenced. As neuroscience and AI progresses, you people will begin to realize the truth, or at least good luck denying it.

You want 100% agency (free will) with your successes, and you want to shift the blame for your failures.

Makes perfect sense, I'm saying people will attribute their success to their own doing, but shift the blame when they fail, but unto others, they attribute all of their downfall to their own doing. Now what I am getting at, above, is getting people to recognize themselves as agents, essentially tabula rasa, and realizing that things they have no control over are the major dictators of how they will turn out in life.

So no, there is no contradiction there, I'm a determinist, a hard determinist, I don't believe in free will but I recognize others do, and I was speaking from their perspective.

Stop it man. Profit from what exactly? They sell the perm kits?..

You dudes and conspiracies. Always a conspiracy.

Sickness

Actually they do..They just put Black faces on the package for marketing purposes.
Afro's are very different to European hair so of course would have a different chemical composition.

Business is not a conspiracy.

I'm not with the bullshyt helpless talk nikkaz have adopted on here about every topic. Everything boils down to Black people being caught in some white concocted scheme they are helpless to on this sub forum. That's quite obviously not reality.

No matter the topic the conclusion is always the same. Oh we are helpess while being driven to self destruction. The cacs made sure the music was genocidal it was calculated. They made the food poison it was calculated, they made Black hair products for cancer, it was calculated..

Sickness. This isn't awareness it's a fukking sickness

So white women are not affected by bleaching their hair, kerotine treatments and curly perms?

Maybe we should investigate in to WHY they have negative birth rate?

Most black women are natural and have been for the last 10 years with the rise in YouTube videos showing how to maintain natural hair at home.

I have been natural since 2008

Because the shyt was JOKES.

“Why do women put that in their hair?”

“To look white.”

THAAAAAAT is why people call his ass a c00n and why BW didn’t give a damn Will slapped him.

Black women literally would not get HIRED if they had natural hair.

The practice I work for literally said employees couldn’t wear braids until a few years ago (2020- Crown Act). I literally had a pow wow with some of the White women in my office and a director said she would step in on my behalf if necessary. I’m only rocking them because the only Black Dr in my practice wears them and she said if she wears them I can wear them.

THAT is a small example of the shyt Black women have gone through.

:dahell:

So if black women had to straighten their hair to fit into the European standard doesn't that back up Chris saying "to look white?" It's blunt but his political and social comedy is based on telling harsh truths like that.

I thought the documentary addressed the history and societal pressure behind why black women straighten their hair. It wasn't meant to bash women. You can literally see that second into the trailer:

There is no contradiction on my end, you goof, search my post history, I have always claimed determinism. You can't claim determinism and believe in free will, it's either libertarian free will, compatibilism, or determinism. You simply misinterpreted my post, but instead of admitting to that, I will continue to get this childish smiley reponse. Grown ass adults too.

I really don’t like how some brehs approach this topic because many of you don’t acknowledge the way white society treats Blackness and black HAIR. Black women have been discriminated against because of our natural hair. Some of our men have made it clear they prefer “looser hair” and women have tried to fit that look with chemical relaxers. I mean, brehs treat me differently when my hair is in braids VS out and straightened, and EVERY Black woman will tell you that.

Discrimination based on hair texture in the United States - Wikipedia
This is bs i remember being 15 and telling my 25 year old aunt there was no such thing as good hair and she looked at me like she was ready to kill me.

Black Women refuse to take accountability if Black Men can wear dreads, a small fro etc at work and do just fine its no excuse for Black Women, this aint the 60s.

No, it doesn't back up Chris saying they're doing it to look white at all. Black women don't "look white" after altering the texture of their hair.
