NBA's Big 4 (Discussion): Giannis-Lebron-Kawhi-Durant

All things equal we know that KD has more accolades, has won his individual matchups with Kawhi, has the head-to-head matchup lead and has been elite since day 1. I don't really see how you can argue that Kawhi is better when healthy just because he just hit top 5 in the NBA status.

He doesn't win the longevity debate, he doesn't win the head to head debate, he doesn't win the stats debate, and he doesn't win the eye test. He's on a lower tier than KD. Just say you like that nikka more.

The only reason I'd pick Kawhi over KD is because KD has a torn achilles. That's it. When healthy there isn't a debate.

I do like him but to say lower tier is crazy breh

Head to head it's not bout wins and losses it's the play
When he was officially elite u watch the games they cancel each other out hell think it was raptor vs warriors game
Kd had 50 kawhi had 40 something but kawhi team won
That dont make kawhi better either
Eye test shows KD is better offense than kawhi
Kawhi is a notch below but has close gap to where it's not as huge and just not as smooth as kd
Kawhi better defense than KD but KD defense has gotten alot better

This is a fair unbiased opinion right here
U dont like that I picked kawhi over KD cuz of chip reason

But it's TRUE he hasnt taken team there if he at least takes them finals I pick him over bron cuz I prefer kd killer mentality over Brons


When these 2 play each other since kawhi was alpha in SA that's when Duncan left they have canceled each other out that fact breh

Quit bringing up kawhi the cog or wasnt even all star against KD cuz it ain't right

Spurs was the favorites in that series and had homecourt.

KD was cookin Mute and couldn't do shyt about it.

2017 was the first year Kawhi passed the eye-test as elite, imo. He could actually create off the dribble.

2016 he looked more like ultra instinct shawn marion.

Kawhi went thru a Bron-Less eastern conference and beat injury depleted Warriors team.

Giannis has minimal skills plus not a good playoff performer.

KD continuously came up short until he joined an unbeatable team. He balled out for sure but its just like how a QB can play great when they have great WRs and OL. Plus KD specifically said he didnt want to be a leader or be ‘the guy’ so how can he be the best player in the league when he doesnt even want to be the leader on his own team? KD is a beast scorer but we’ve never seen a team built around him win a title.

When you have two of the best shooters in NBA history, 3 of the top defenders in the NBA, and a great passing system around you, you suddenly look better at everything, don't you?

KD was basically chilling every game, just picking his spots while Dray/Iggy/Klay did the heavy lifting on defense, Steph and Dray shared the ballhandling/distribution load and Steph and Klay shared the scoring. It's just not remotely comparable to a situation where someone has to actually carry a team and you see what they're really made of. Even when Steph was off he was still the one commanding double-teams while KD got to feast.

He wasn't even the main reason why the Spurs beat the Heat in 2014.

The entire team shot like 53% for the series...

...and Kawhi averaged 17.8ppg which was 2nd for the Spurs.

I didn't even mention that Miami was getting their ass kicked by halftime.

Tony Parker was 1st with.....18ppg

First two games kawhi was in foul trouble

Last 3 he averaged 24 a game on like 60%...65% when King James was guarding him

Guess he was above the team average huh

Pop was the real MVP that series. Really you could have given it to any of the main guys.

Kawhi ended up winning it because he hit his open shots and got the boost from defending LeBron even if he couldn't stop him. Exact same reason Iggy won it the next year. Both of them were 3rd/4th options on their best days, they neither ran the offense nor were the best scorers out of it, but they took advantage of the defensive attention other players got along with good ball movement and ended up sorta being the default option in the end.
