Yeah I don’t know what dunks you could do anymore that could wow people now. Like the Eastbay funk was one of the coldest dunks I ever seen.. I learned how to do it and my friends loved that shyt…. I had to do it on a low rim tho :russ:

But that’s why people are jumping over cars and people and shyt now. You need props to do these dunk contests now. I’m really surprised nobody like took a selfie and posted on Instagram mid dunk yet.. something stupid like that lol
:gladbron: somebody is gonna do a mid air IG live dunk :pachaha:

KD is a great ambassador for the league cuz he really loves this shyt

and yeah, the talking heads on TV are more hype for free agency and narratives. They hold a "Free agency special". and that's when the lames like Malika and Rachel Nichols are most talkative.

:comeon:BRON WOULD HAVE WON
THAT shyt JUST BY SHOWING UP
AND MAKING HIS DUNKS.

DWIGHT CAN WIN
BUT BRON COULDNT IN THE 2000S?

And people still would've complained :damn: he won doing basic dunks, this is why the NBA is dying, the league is catering to Bron, it's rigged, am I doing it right? :aicmon::pachaha:some folks are full of shyt

TYRONE GA!
load management is what devalued the regular season.
Fans know they will see the stars giving their full effort in the playoffs
What do you do when it's the teams pushing the load management though?

people keep blaming the players for load management when it's the teams forcing it.

The media is the reason fans care so much about Free Agency. They only time they talk about the NBA on sports radio is during free agency or the trade deadline moves. They will literally talk about womens college hoops before the NBA otherwise.
Maybe instead of doing fantasy NFL draft the entire offseason they give some attention to regular season NBA games and the narrative might change.

100%

when OKC had to play HOU in the in-season tournament (side note: adam silver's solution to everything needs to stop being "let's make this into a tournament") the NBA said "I know this isn't the marquee matchup we all wanted."

Like, wtf :mjtf:

There were TONS of shytty NFL games this past season, but the NFL promoted it like it was an amazing game. The NBA doesn't do shyt like this. It's why KD, Steph and Bron are still so revered, and they've been playing since the 2000's.

I mean, the NFL right now is nothing like the NFL I've watched growing up as a kid. NFL was marketed less about skill and more about size :dame: and power back in the day. So I know a lot of people will disagree here about the NFL being peak. And hell, if you remove NFL no one else really plays traditional manner football on pro level. The pro football/NFL phenomena is crazy because for hockey and baseball and basketball there are other leagues that are inferior, but still competitive and pro, for football theres basically nothing even comparable.

The globalism aspect of basketball is the reason why you're even able to compare euro rules to NBA.

I get what you're trying to say tho

I would say the thing that saved the NFL is defense adjusting to the offenses. The year they made the rule changes that cause a bunch of QBs to go for 5000 yards...it was just garbage

I still don't get this narrative, how many all time greats aside from LeBron and AI came from the trenches? Kobe is in a lot of people's top 10 and he was made fun of for being brought up in Italy and not being from the trenches, same with Steph, his dad played in the league and you'd look like a fool questioning his heart and passion for the game.

The "trenches" doesn't necessarily mean the worst hoods in America...it means their development in hooping came with being around the culture. Folks in Philly used to clown Kobe's prep upbringing but he was still a product of the culture. Today's player is AAU ball, travel squads and personalized trainers. It's why folks gravitate towards Ant...there's a rawness and style to his game that's a throwback to a Sprewell or Mitch Richmond.

The comments were about the soul missing from the NBA. Don't confused passion with flair and style. Steph is passionate about the game but he's not bringing what Magic, Zeke, AI, Marbury, Francis or even KJ and D-Rose brought. Steph is an all time great but there's a rawness that's he's never had and will never have.

I mean, we just saw what Steph did in the Olympics this past summer, if that ain't flair I don't know what is. And what I'm getting at is if people just love the play style from the early 2000's more then just say that, but it was always gonna evolve with the business of basketball being more prevalent than it was back in the day. We love Ant for being who he is for sure but I've seen people hate on his play style too because they say he shoots too many threes so what is it?
