Philly bouls, Trust the Process
I hate when people try to use stats to determine who is better than who on defense. These numbers are always faulty.

I just watch the games. And from watching the games when Andrew Wiggins matched up with Kawhi vs Giannis, there wasn't even a comparison. Against Kawhi he was not even able to dribble. Kawhi ripped him nearly every play and locked him up with ease. When Wiggins played Giannis, he scored at ease when matched up one on one. He was able to beat him off the dribble easily. Now this was only a couple of games but the difference between the two players was stark for me.

Giannis might be the better rim protector, but Kawhi Leonard is still the better defender by a long shot.

Watch the games.
You're judging off the four times he matched up with Wiggins and reputation :heh: this sums up the whole year of work. Giannis is a far better rim protector, gets you more rebounds, and shut guys down on the perimeter better than Kawhi did. Please tell me what's faulty about these numbers breh

Chris Paul :francis:

Legitimately, one of the WORST starting guards on defense this season. He would regularly take nights off on that end, and when he didn't, he still couldn't stay in front of his man. You can tell these muh'fukkas aren't even watching the games, and simply going off reputation and/or that smart-dumb DRPM metric.

Yeah Avery should have been on there, oh well.

No Klay and Bradley? Yeah this is clown shyt

Avery Bradley not there :stopitslime:

They're speaking out.

Avery Bradley should be on that list in CP3 spot.

KD has improved greatly on D.

Klay couldnt even get on the second team?
Bradley missed too many games for my liking (if he didn't, he would be deserving of having his name on one of those teams), the real snub here is Marcus Smart. He played the second-most total minutes for the Celtics (behind IT2), would often guard the best backcourt threat (often IT2's opposite), acted as a great help defender and lockdown defender simultaneously, and was his team's one-size-fits-all defensive cork - guarding 1-4 regularly - sometimes even 5s, and even forcing himself to guard multiple positions on the same damn play. He's basically the guard version of Draymond Green.

guess im too busy watching leonard on d, green is locking fools up like that? had no idea
:patrice:

You do realize Danny was taking the majority of the defensive reps on the opposition's best guard/wing threat, because Kawhi was getting accustomed to handling a bigger offensive load, all throughout the season, right?

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
He does on some possessions. Just watch these highlights. Giannis guarded Wiggins on a couple of possessions and Wiggins blew by him with ease.

The fact he doesn't always guard Wiggins should let you know his perimeter defense isn't in the same stratosphere as Kawhi. Why would the Bucks put Jabari Parker on Wiggins rather than Giannis if he was this stopper some on here wanna imply? For the record, Wiggins guards Giannis on the other end while Giannis mostly hides from him.

Giannis is a great rim protector and roamer on defense. But he lacks the lateral quickness to stick with elite guards on the perimeter like Wiggins. And he obviously lacks the girth and strength to guard powerful bigs like Towns. That is why he typically hides on guys like Gorgui Dieng when the Bucks play the Wolves.

Because Giannis is their best rim protector, that's why.

And Wiggins was 3-13 the next time he played them.

Imma be real, Kawhi made first team this year off reputation :francis: He took up more of an offensive responsibility this season and understandably had to forfeit a bit defensively, but nonetheless did forfeit a bit on that end. Giannis was the better defender this season :yeshrug:

Also Covington was a better defender than Roberson
Yeah, Kawhi definitely made it on reputation this season (still doesn't take away from him being arguably the best wing defender in the game), still not the worst selection, but it just adds to the shame how more effective defenders who have greater defensive workloads don't get recognition.

This guy is going to be an integral piece of a championship team one day. He just needs to shoot well enough to stay on the floor. He's truly a gifted defender. He and Bradley should of made it.
