Untitled has a lot of sleeper joints. Testify, Y'all My nikkas, Louis Farrakhan, Project Roach all great. I just wish it was pulled together a little better. Could live with out fox news diss (its like dissing hitler, kinda stupid), we are not alone, etc. I think it will age well though.

Got bumped a lot that summer and well into the winter.

Of course some of the best joints were also left off the album but still a good album nonetheless.

Good write-up, OP. You should edit it up and put this on the blog.

I'm not sure I believe that it was a classic album or anything (I'm a concept guy, but the album still has to be robust all the way through ALONG WITH having a great concept, and this flagged a little at times), but it is one that's destined to be underrated in his catalogue, even though it doesn't deserve to be. Very intelligent and penetrating stuff regarding the Black experience, with a broad perspective as well (Note: People get on Nas for being "contradictory" regarding his persona. Maybe he's just not forsaking one aspect of himself for another, which is a form of lying to oneself. At least, that's what I believe).

I actually remember writing a paper in a rhetoric class that analyzed "Queens Gets The Money" when it came out. I got some great praise for it as well.

How many of y'all renamed the album ******? :smugdraper:

This thread may make me revisit the album. Never really gave the album a genuine listen and I'm a huge NaS fan. :rudy: at myself. I always felt mixed about what I heard, though. My expectations were too high and I was on my A&R bullshyt so I was ultimately disappointed with the album.

Loved Queens Get the Money, You Can't Stop Us Now, Hero, America (unreleased version), Sly Fox, and Testify.

No matter what, I'll probably always think he left some gold off this album. Should've been a blend with The ****** Tape. Cops Keep Firing >>> :ooh:

the ****** tape was :wow: haven't listened to it since that year though. gotta find that.
