I'm really not feeling this. And I'm a big Nas fan.

Lyrically, it's lazy. The delivery is shaky and the flow is all over the place.
He needs to stop recording his verses in one take too.
That Bye Baby flow is unacceptable for a rapper of his stature.
I thought he ran out of ways to piss me off.

"My past like my ass, is behind me":stopitslime:

Come on, man

Rhyming trumpets with crumpets :stopitslime:

And what jaw dropping bars would u have went with? I'll wait.

The Nas is lazy shyt is funny. When you look at his unreleased catalog and the fact that he has been in the game for 20 years. What will you say about Ra then?

Not sure about what was said on Twitter but Nas said "Season of Nasir" at the end of the track so I guess that there is a good chance that it may be the album title.

What i am curious about is the change in direction that album obviously took back when Nas initially stated that he was going to drop the album title but the announcement never came. I know he had already started working on the album, then he seemingly dumped everything and started fresh. That's why I know those Def Jam vaults have to have some tracks with interesting and current topics on it and I want to hear it.

@Life is Good? Somebody with knowledge of the industry answer this. Can Nas, who probably has files with his Def Jam music on it, use these on his Lost Tapes 2, without going through Def Jam? He said he had the album all lined up and ready to go a few years ago. Could he just add those and have the project go through Sony or will those Def Jam tracks be in the vaults until Def Jam finally wants to do something with them?

I'm curious.

Unless Nas owns the masters (very FEW artists are in that position) he'd definitely need Def Jam's permission to use those tracks. Remember his first two albums were co-financed by Sony and Def Jam, so that might (theoretically) allow him to use unreleased tracks from Hip Hop Is Dead and Untitled.

Early reports were from the pre Life Is Good sessions were that he recorded tracks with Pete Rock specifically for Lost Tapes 2 and a few other producers.

Again all of this is theoritocal, I'm just going off of reports I've read over the previous years. Nas has been planning Lost Tapes 2 since after Streets Disciple so I know he wants it to be a bit "bigger" than the first Lost Tapes

I'd be lying if I said the rhymes weren't lazy on this, but he probably recorded this in one take and threw out there for excitement.

I know he's going to be rhyming crazy on the album.

So then, will Def Jam grant permission and divided the money with Nas and Sony when they can release their own, already in the can for 2 years, version and just share it with Nas. Remember, they had the chance to do it on their own before and balked. I don't know about this one.

Otherwise, the fact that Sony has some rights to the recordings from HHID and Untitled sounds really good. Statik Selectah and I think Premo, have also done tracks with him between the time he left Sony and before Life Is Good. Also Green Lantern and Salaam is rumoured to have a bunch too. I just think that the Def Jam era has a lot of the mature Nas content that I want to hear. Sure I want to hear the Nasty Nas and the Nas Escobar too but I really appreciate the mature Nas and the adult content. I like where he is now with his craft. Skill wise, of course he's on point always but content wise is where , I think, he needs to be.

Also, for the original LT, Sony didn't really have to pay for a lot of samples. There weren't a lot of samples on that album. Also noticeable was the absence of big name producers. I wonder how much these variables will factor into the decision on what to release on the LT2.

Statik and Salaam have MULTIPLE unreleased joints from that era. 2 of Statik's were very close to making Life Is Good. Also the original version of The ****** album was primarily produced by Salaam (confirmed by Nas) and Jay Electronica and Jermaine Dupri had confirmed production that didn't make it. Also there are confirmed songs from Just Blaze, Will I Am, and DJ Premier from the HHID sessions that have yet to see the light of day...

The song I'm actually most interested to hear is that White Man's Paper track which featured Damien Marley.
