Great song. Nas continues to improve his expressionism. No one of his stature is dropping songs w/ Dilla production to lead their next album. He's by far the best we have, might just be the best to ever do it. So we have to support him...financially if you can by buying the cd when it drops, tours, etc., but also supporting his movement online and to people you know who like good music.

If his next album drops even 100k first week, it's outselling 95% of other first week sales this year. You think execs won't pay attention to that? Imagine if he goes gold that first week.

Escobar season has returned.

I'm really not feeling this. And I'm a big Nas fan.

Lyrically, it's lazy. The delivery is shaky and the flow is all over the place.
He needs to stop recording his verses in one take too.
That Bye Baby flow is unacceptable for a rapper of his stature.
I thought he ran out of ways to piss me off.

I think the track is right on time. Nas, again, is talking about some real stuff. Even though he is abstract about it, we all know what and who he is addressing. I hope the entire album is dedicated to this kind of material. He said that he had some stuff he needed to get off of his chest. Look out, its the season!

It really is a testament to Nas's continued relevance how ONE new song with ONE specific verse can get everybody riled up. We've got Twitter posters claiming it's a diss to them, a woman whose entire career has been a come up off hip hop crying about she "hates rappers", and now the revived Jay-Z Vs. Nas debate even though NOBODY in their right mind could interpret this as a Jigga diss.....

You just KNOW the album is gonna be crazy. The Season indeed:banderas:

It's not a Jigga Diss guys. It was a fun Jab at Jay always being on Vacation somewhere. NaS and Jay are BFF's now. NaS admitted he doesn't like to ever listen to "Ether".

Of course it wasn't a diss. Like I was saying anybody with a functioning brain could see that. The Jay-Nas debate has been a weak one for a minute now. Them nikkas sent DIRECT shots at each other on tracks TOGETHER (Success. I Do It For Hip Hop) and still work together, so we all know it not that serious.

Off topic but Bey lookin:banderas: in that second photo

Is it true that Nas confirmed that the album is called Seasons of Nasir and a 2015 release on Twitter?

Not sure about what was said on Twitter but Nas said "Season of Nasir" at the end of the track so I guess that there is a good chance that it may be the album title.

What i am curious about is the change in direction that album obviously took back when Nas initially stated that he was going to drop the album title but the announcement never came. I know he had already started working on the album, then he seemingly dumped everything and started fresh. That's why I know those Def Jam vaults have to have some tracks with interesting and current topics on it and I want to hear it.

@Life is Good? Somebody with knowledge of the industry answer this. Can Nas, who probably has files with his Def Jam music on it, use these on his Lost Tapes 2, without going through Def Jam? He said he had the album all lined up and ready to go a few years ago. Could he just add those and have the project go through Sony or will those Def Jam tracks be in the vaults until Def Jam finally wants to do something with them?

I'm curious.
