Also on the subject of Ghostwriting and Dream. NaS has been in the game for 25 years. He's worked with COUNTLESS artist. Of course he's not an arrogant person. If someone is in the studio vibing with him and they have an idea he likes. Why wouldn't he use it? That doesn't mean they "Wrote" the song. Maybe they gave an idea for a hook or concept. That's the creative process. Stic. Man and Jay Elec definitely helped with concepts for NaS but that doesn't mean they wrote NaS's lyrics. So though I'm torn on Esco even bringing it up, I'm happy he just addressed it real quick and now he can keep it moving.

First Nas song I really like since You're The Man :obama:

I wish the hook was better. It would have been better to just let the beat ride there instead

who's that? and who is Dream?

Stic.man-boxer2.jpg

Stic.Man from Dead Prez. He did some writing on "Untitled". A lot of the songs he worked on also ended up on "The N!gger Tape" like this one:

Dream = Dream Hampton who NaS is dissing in the 2nd verse cause she claimed she heard 6 "Untitled Reference" Tracks of Lyrics that NaS used. She claimed Jay Elect and Stic.Man wrote most of the album.

He didn't say he was washed up. Stop it man:childplease:

art is interpretative brehs. him saying jay is on vacation, i took it as saying dude is absent, or not hungry. and since jay still drops shyt, i took it as absent and not present, as in not bringing that urgent and relevant music. its only my interpretation though.

the reason people make it a big deal is because it's NAS. It's like saying Shakespeare NEVER received influence from the writers around him. nikkas couldnt believe Nas wrote Untitled

not only is that the creative process, thats damn near the norm. most mc's dont write their hooks, thats the producers job. by dreams standards, every mc is using ghostwriters then, including her bff.

Like for years everyone was like "Cormega wrote Flooded with ice so Hell fire can't scorch me" line on "Affirmative Action". Then that morphed to, "Oh Mega ghostwriting for NaS". The ghostwriting thing is so overplayed. People think dudes who write hooks ghostwrote the whole song. Like even with NaS for "Big Willie Style". He didn't GHOSTWRITE anything as he got credit for all the songs he helped Will with. He was in the studio with Will and they were vibing and he came up with some concepts and lyrics. The only song I think he outright wrote for will was "Just Cruisin" cause that was NaS's flow all day. Same with Biggie and Junior Mafia. You could tell he was writing those lyrics. But NaS himself doesn't need anyone for that. I'm sure it was Jay and Stic.Man giving NaS concept and ideas and sure even some hooks and he built off that. Dream is the one that took it far attacking NaS just so she could big up Jay in the process.
