Is that your bytch came out a yr before Takeover

There were other tracks like Come & Get Me, Da Bridge 2001, Eye for an Eye freestyle

And Nas routinely included Carmen in his verses. The Nas verse in Sincerity was clearly referring to Carmen. That came out in 99 as well. Carmen was clearly at the center of the beef.
Fam. I know about all those tracks. I know when Is That Your bytch came out. And that was 2 years before Takeover by the way. It was in the end of 99 for the first version. Takeover was in 01. There’s OTHER reasons Nas was sending shots at Jay back then. But yea now that I remember. She did say she came clean to Nas when the Memphis Bleek version of that song dropped. Either way. It couldnt have been from the Nastradamus sessions being that the first version of “Is That Your Chick” came out on Vol.3 at the end of 99. Second version on Memphis Bleek album in 2000. And Nastradamus came out before both of those albums.

come get me and millennium thug are def about jay-z
Yes they are. But it’s mixed because people say it’s about Mega too. But that was before he found out Carmen cheated with Jay. He didnt find that out until after Nastradamus was already released. Is That Your Chick version with the Carmen diss wasnt even until fall of 2000. Nastradamus came out damn near winter 99. By then both Nas and Bleek and Jay been dissing eachother already. Nas has issues with Bleek at first too if u remember that. He sends a shot at Bleek on the “Nastradamus” single. shyt wasnt about Carmen. Carmen aint get dragged into it until the Memphis Bleek version of “Is That Your Chick” which is when Carmen told Nas about the affair.

Ok. Anybody test... I take it that this may be a track that Nas is referring to when he says that he does stuff in the studio that others aren’t supposed to hear. Lol. I’m the irony with that is that it’s not that bad. I heard that he also did a no reggae accented version and if so, that might’ve turned out event better.

Be a bigger too... seems like that was supposed to be like the title track of the ****** album. I’m assuming it was not added for sample clearance reasons. There is another version that appeared on the Green Lantern mixtape that was ok but not better than the original IMO.

The Nasdac Dow Jones album... what was recorded for those sessions?

I personally hate it when Nas throws real quality tracks on soundtracks but they never get an official release on one of his projects i.e., Gangsta Tears, Escobar 97, Wanna Play Rough, Wanna Be Me, One on One and Nas’ Angels. It’s possible that some agreement is made for the exclusive rights to the songs but shyt like this has bothered me since Gamgstar was able to put their soundtrack tracks on Full clip.
Breh you gotta be tired of writing these essays about these same songs :martin:

We don’t know shyt:pachaha:

I'm actually interested in the toomp and alchemist records. I'm also curious of the swizz songs. Swizz and Nas dont have the strongest track records, but hopefully they got in the right pocket and produced a couple of bangers that have great energy.

Nas and his team have shown that when a sample doesn’t clear, they can do an interpolation of the sample and still put the track out like Fetus and America. Even The Message and Hate Me Now. I wonder why the why haven’t done this with other tracks that have had sample clearances.

A couple of Nasdaq Dow Jones ended up on HHID. "Let There Be Light", I think, was one of them. I remember an interview from the time he talked about it and said he had recorded with Kanye for it. He had some Eminem beats too.

You said earlier they weren't dissing over Carmen, which is false. Jay's Best of Me Remix verses were subliminals as well. My original contention was that they were subliminlly dissing each other since 99, which is true. So why did you dispute my post?

Nas is my GOAT but I’m keeping my hopes for this joint low after Nasir, that joint was forgettable

I’m loving the flow on the snippet though
