Ok. Anybody test... I take it that this may be a track that Nas is referring to when he says that he does stuff in the studio that others aren’t supposed to hear. Lol. I’m the irony with that is that it’s not that bad. I heard that he also did a no reggae accented version and if so, that might’ve turned out event better.
Be a bigger too... seems like that was supposed to be like the title track of the ****** album. I’m assuming it was not added for sample clearance reasons. There is another version that appeared on the Green Lantern mixtape that was ok but not better than the original IMO.
Nas and his team have shown that when a sample doesn’t clear, they can do an interpolation of the sample and still put the track out like Fetus and America. Even The Message and Hate Me Now. I wonder why the why haven’t done this with other tracks that have had sample clearances.
The Nasdac Dow Jones album... what was recorded for those sessions?
Finally, I personally hate it when Nas throws real quality tracks on soundtracks but they never get an official release on one of his projects i.e., Gangsta Tears, Escobar 97, Wanna Play Rough, Wanna Be Me, One on One and Nas’ Angels. It’s entirely possible that some agreement has been made for the exclusive rights to the songs but shyt like this has bothered me since Gangstar was able to put their soundtrack tracks on Full clip.
