Use to love tinkering with his album track list and using b-sides, leaks to replace the tracks I thought were wack or didn't fit the his initial concept. Should be fun to go back and see if these new tracks would fit or not.

This article is crazy.

That Was an Uncanny Era: An Oral History of Nas’ ‘The Lost Tapes’

Some wild facts (cliff notes).

- Doo Rags, Purple, Everybody's Crazy, and Black Zombie are the newest songs on it
- I ended up being right thinking Fetus had an original version. The Lost Tapes version had to be replayed for sample clearance issues.
- D-Dot says that term ghost producing in some ways started with the Poppa Was a Player/Kanye West situation.
- Nas pretty much freestyled My Way on his birthday in '99.
- U Gotta Love It is a 3 bar loop like Worst Comes to Worst is (3 bar loops are unusual and hard to rap over).
- Blaze a 50 was released unfinished
- Doo Rags and Smokin' from Stillmatic were made in the same night

nikkas argued with me to death that this Nas flow was on NASIR and they all lied :wow:

THIS snippet right here, is the GOAT rapping with effort :blessed:

It's the drums. I keep saying it, Nas raps to the drums. Give him slow or weak drums like on Nasir and you get slower flows that may be off beat depending on the production. Hard fast drums and you get classic Nas.

That snippet has hard drums that are up tempo, almost a breakbeat. Of course Nas was gonna float on that. It's god's plan.

Crooked I can't understand this.

Also can't write a song or make an album like Nas

SINY!!
:ehh:Would be super dope but honestly I don't think anything featuring Jay would be hidden if only for promotional reasons. Being able to say jay was on this would be a big deal for marketing.

Agreed, having Jay on the album would be huge....but in the end, there are probably sample clearance issues.

What’s funny is how some of Just Blaze’s best material gets left off albums for this reason.

If Just Blaze was about the music, take all the unreleased tracks, fine tune/mix/master them and just throw it out there as a mixtape/indie compilation album.

Unless Jay and Nas have a personal issue on the low and this is why shyt like Tru Life and Swizz Beatz have songs with both of them on it but they won't come out.
