Its NOT a large timeline though. Its roughly the same amount of years that make up OG lost tapes. Lost Tapes was sessions from the original Double Album of i am... (99) and Stillmatic (2001) so lets say he started working on I am in 98, thats 4 years of material. Lost Tapes 2 is Def Jam era from HHID-Life Is Good. The timeline of those sessions is roughly 4 years (taking away 2010 for Distant Relatives) so its not like we’re spanning the entirety of Nas’s career. There is no “Nasty Nas” or “Escobar” era songs on this compilation.
OK that makes sense to me. I just thought It might be more because @Piff Perkins had some info that corresponded to some other info that the Alchemist track is from 2015/2016. I thought Street’d Disciple was the last time frame they recorded anything in. But based on what you’re saying I’m guessing that’s unlikely if not outright impossible.

There’s no major buzz for this

Nas stans just have a stranglehold on rap forums(this forum specifically)

we're in an era in hiphop now where thats actually a good sign for the quality of music ironically.

it means the teenage crowd that cares about auto-tuned melodies or mumbles aren't checking for it

after all, this is considered hot to them, 10 milly views, mostly positive comments

if nikkas that love this ain't checking for it then thats good

I don’t understand these kind of posts. I’m pretty sure most people here know that I’m a very big fan of both Jay and Nas, and not a Stan of either. Even if you aren’t a huge fan of either I think most people would put both of them in most top five or top 10 lists at the least.

I’m not sure what’s not to be hype about with this? It may not have a major buzz but who cares? It’s one of the best rappers of all time without a lot of features, and with a lot of really great producers.

I don’t care if there’s a buzz or not for that shyt I think looks good

:yeshrug:
I was responding to a post that was claiming the buzz around this was crazy

No

Livin It is an Untitled (******) leftover. Beautiful Life is a leftover from Life Is Good

Maybe Beautiful Life is re-named and it was the unreleased title track that for Life is Good that No ID did. :ohhh:

It's just good to see that hip-hop is coming alive this summer....the first half of the year was ehhh but now it's starting to pick up steam.

I don't wanna sound like I'm standing on a soapbox but yeah...that's just how I feel:yeshrug:
I feel the same. 2018 is one of the best years we've had in I don't even know how long.

2019 started off real slow and has been kind of a letdown so far, but then summer just started and we've already had 3 crazy projects and this, KRIT, and WSG are all dropping this month.

Another thing that kind of irks me, and I hope this album puts the argument to rest for sure. is that some people consider unreleased music to be of lesser quality. This is indeed possible in some cases, but not in necessarily in the case of Nas. Nas tries to have concepts albums like HHID, ****** and LIG, therefore, some high quality tracks just may not make the cut because they don't fit the concept. This could be t he case when the inevitable argument ensues... "he should've left that on the album". I do recall reading and article when Nas said he regretted leaving some work off of the ****** album. I am assuming it was "Who Are You" since it was initially listed on the ITunes track list and is now finally being officially released.
