Alot of these hipster music blogs were never going to give a new Nas album a glowing review in 2019. To them a new Nas album just isn't culturally relevant unless it features more of a contemporary sound or artists that fit a certain image (Dev Hynes, Frank Ocean, Solange, etc). Those artists are cool and I even like some of their stuff but let's be realty, none of us want a Nas album that sounds like that. Add the Me Too allegations in the mix (even if they are BS).. This kind of album will never be praised outside of real rap fans.

I check out Sterogum and they only mentioned the album once and it was to link to the wackest song on the album (Royalty) because of the Frank Ocean connection.

They do the same think to classic rock as well. The new Raconteurs (which was heat btw) got panned by all these same outlets because it doesn't fit their image of what's cool in 2019

We like the album on here.. Buy the releases and keep supporting the GOAT so he keeps making records for us and not for Pitchfork

Bruh that Kelis situation is also part of the reason people hating on Esco. Every story I read it brings the abuse allegation into it. Although he already addressed it as false. And I'm about 99% sure that some of the hip hop media is trying their hardest to tarnish nas to and prop jayz up as high as possible. They know the average sheep will run with what they say without looking up any facts. Nas doesnt mess with most of these hip hop media outlets so they are salty. I've hardly seen any hip hop media people post about the lost tapes, except the people I know nas messes with. If jay had dropped the exact same album it would be getting praised. The joe budden podcast spent 10 mins on the album but when it comes to a song they dont like they will dog it for 30 mins straight, but when it's something like they acknowledge it but do their best not to give it too much props.
What episode did they talk about LT2

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Daytona got great reviews despite Kanye. Nasir got bad to average reviews because it wasn't a good project. There is no conspiracy. The Kelis stuff hurt more than Kanye IMO, and that has died as her story looks less and less logical (based on the court fight).

People are reviewing this as an album, meaning their knocking off points for stuff WE understand to be unfinished. Joe Blow The Urban Music Consumer peeps the album on Spotify and asks why the fukk does this sound unevenly mixed with wack singing. Jane Doe The Music Reviewer asks the same thing.
Oh word. Did they say that about MDBTF? Because that shyt is one of the worst mixed mainstream mega popular albums of all time. shyt is clipping everywhere. Unevenly mixed? nikka do u HEAR some of the shyt that get’s released today? shyt is mixed better than alot of that bullshyt.

Just so blessed that NaS dropped this after I almost gave up on him with the kanye produced album

This has been in the whip, the gym, the home all week. Still digesting it all.

Truly blessed to witness such greatness from the GOAT
Not sure why you almost gave up on him, but I guess that's how nas gets judged
