I
I wish Shahiem would’ve ask Nas if his (New) album really is done. I mean really. I’m sure he has 20 tracks locked and done but is he done like ready to drop it whenever he wants, done like He wants to wait and find one or two more good joints to put it over the top or done like I just have to add a few more vocals and wait for some samples to clear?

When did he put Nas Album Done out? When did The Season come out? He obviously pulled some Swizz and RZA tracks from that era and added them to Lost Tapes. I’m curious.
Man I've been awaiting somebody to ask him that question fam

Album is a 4. nikkas claim to hate redundant trap beats and subject mattter, but when an artists strays away from that yall hate. I like the album, I also liked "Nasir".
this.
also,i'm not taking any of this 'nas picks bad beats' bullshyt serious anymore.
here he works with the producers you were screaming for him to work with and now the 'sequencing' is a problem or some other problem.

Dog you would think Nas owes these people some money or something
the way he gets disrespected. I've never seen somebody who actually
doesn't bother anybody who's a legend get this kind of hate.
We gotta hold down his legacy because if the media has it their way in the future
my guy will be the dude who had 1 good album in a 40 year span. They're out for
blood but I don't know why lol

Read the review they did for the og Lost Tapes. There was a lot of backhanded compliments. They pretty much called his best work since Illmatic, but gave it a 5.9 out of 10.

Someone said it before, to truly understand NAS music, you have to have heard all of it. His entire story. These young critics don’t know. He’ll never get good reviews from them. Part of the experience is knowing the backstory with Nas. fukk them! :pacspit:

Woow. Lmao. This album is getting worse scores than fukking Magna Carta Holy Grail. Let that sink in for a minute.

Critics are harsher on works that they know are "leftovers" or scrapped songs. I hate using this example, but critics and fans responded the same way when Justin Timberlake released Part 2 to 20/20 Experience. Once he announced that these were songs that didn't make Pt. 1, critics already had their minds made up. The fans did too. Every critic made note of the obvious that the songs were leftovers from Pt. 1. It's like if he'd pushed it as a regular album and not a sequel, it would've been different.

To me, Nas is in the same position with critics. When he dropped the og, there were no expectations. Now, the Lost Tapes has it's own cult following. Its hailed as one of his best albums. He announced the sequel and dropped it 17 years later. Now there's extremely high expectations to equal or exceed the original. Well, critics want to point everything the album isn't or was never intended to be. They are talking about trap beats knowing full well people complained about his features on "March Madness" and Jeezy's "God".

Fam. These are people that shouldnt be reviewing a Nas album or any hip hop album by a legend that isnt Jay Z. They follow trends and have no credibility. Alot of em are white boys straight out of college that will give up on hip hop once they “grow out of it”. It’s either that. Or they feel like they wont stay in Jay’s good graces if they review any one of his albums too harshly. And it aint even Jay’s fault. But his power and influence in the industry def plays a part in some of this shyt. It’s the reason why Nas wont even entertain an Elliot Wilson interview. These cats were straight up disrespectful to Nas outside of the realm of music all in the name of Jay. While Jay shows Nas nothing but love. Jay actually went to the store personally to purchase Distant Relatives.
