shyt is excellent...but it's unfinished. He has to give us a 3rd verse and wrap the story up, it can't just be an introduction and a climax and that's it. Nas is too good of a writer to write a story without a Resolution of some sort to conclude, shyt is Screenwriting 101. That's why I said a lot of this album sounds like it's fresh off the cutting room floor, lot of unfinished joints. Idk why he didn't just touch them up to make em complete before putting the album out.
The song is a classic to me but yeah I said the same shyt, it needed a 3rd verse to end the story, maybe waking up in rikers the next day with no recollection of how it happened ... man that would have been dope.

So no Lost Freestyle? No Bad Energy? Vernon Family?

Naw I’m good its great as is. Illmatic was twenty five years ago. On some “Illmatic shyt” is a lazy ass comparison in 2019
I just meant the length (pause) with that. Track 9 to 16 is 8 tracks, like "illmatic" (minus 1)

Musically this album is absolutely nothing like Illmatic in any way

I thought B.Dot was a huge Nas fan.
Nas gave Shaheem the tidal interview instead
of them and B.Dot hasn't even talked about the album on twitter.
He usually always speaks about Nas whenever he drops something smh lol

B.Dot who rolls with Elliot Wilson and called Jay the GOAT? Nas does NOT fukk with Elliot Wilson or anything that he’s involved in. Its been confirmed.

I know all of that. B. Dot is a huge Nas fan though.
He usually shows Nas love or at the least speaks
on him. He wasn't crazy about the Nasir album
but he spoke on it nonetheless. Never heard him
not speak on a Nas release before.

Somebody tell Life is Good he should
show Nas this thread. I think he would
enjoy reading how his true fans feel
about the album.

They're saying it on his IG, on YouTube, iTunes, Amazon.
Overwhelming Majority of the people he made the album for, are loving the album.

The coli prefers giving attention to dissenters

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster

Out of curiousness:

Interested in what the last 5 albums you enjoyed were and what's in your i-tunes/spotify playlists...

This album isn't for casual Nas/hip hop fans.

People are saying they are Nas fans and can't sit with LT2. I'm going back listening to N****R, Nasir, Streets Disciple, Life is Good and Hip Hop Is Dead... not only is LT2 bounds, leaps and heaps greater than aforementioned... after a few dozen spins to LT2 and letting it marinate daily since release... i may even put it on par with the og LT.

The production is just :ohlawd:

I haven't enjoyed a nas album like this since Stillmatic.

Ur right... But come on man they don't get in-depth
like how we get in-depth about it over here lol
Things are spoken on with just a tad bit more detail
in here.

Bruh that Kelis situation is also part of the reason people hating on Esco. Every story I read it brings the abuse allegation into it. Although he already addressed it as false. And I'm about 99% sure that some of the hip hop media is trying their hardest to tarnish nas to and prop jayz up as high as possible. They know the average sheep will run with what they say without looking up any facts. Nas doesnt mess with most of these hip hop media outlets so they are salty. I've hardly seen any hip hop media people post about the lost tapes, except the people I know nas messes with. If jay had dropped the exact same album it would be getting praised. The joe budden podcast spent 10 mins on the album but when it comes to a song they dont like they will dog it for 30 mins straight, but when it's something like they acknowledge it but do their best not to give it too much props.

I just realized tonight I was listening to the album out of sequence this whole time, smh, after 3 listens. The sequence the way they put it out makes the album sound weaker, imo. The first half of the album is like a 3.5 to me, being generous...the second half is close to perfect. First impressions are vital when it comes to albums, after that mediocre start it probably turned would-be supporters of the album off by the time they even got to the second half of the album.

Imagine if the album was just Track 9 to Track 16 on some "Illmatic" shyt. shyt woulda been a classic album of throwaways, think about that, :ohhh:

This is literally called "finding something to complain about"
Everything concerning a nas album must be nitpicked.
Y'all never get tired of doing this?
