Nas is my Goat but this album is no where near classic like I saw in this thread. This is at best a 3.5 mic album. Lost Tapes 1 is definitely a better overall joint. I know we been waiting for this for years but some y’all need to relax.

I think I would rate it around the same.

life in the underbelly
Beats overall are a bit of a letdown, I expected better.

RZA is 1/2 for me, the 2nd song (Highly Favored) is a lil annoying/distracting, but it's growing on me.

Disappointed from Daji, Khalil, Hit-Boy productions

Pete Rock came correct. That's a 2/2 for me. Special shout outs to Eric Hudson and Toomp, their shyt was dope.

Alchemist with It Never Ends was dope, but such a missed opportunity for not having any drums. Felt like it lacked a proper climax. Woulda been fukkin amazing if he brought the drums half-way through and upped the tempo with Nas going in harder. SMH.

Nas was on point.
That Rza song (Tanasia) is growing on me. I didn't care for it at first, but after giving it a second listen its not bad.

I wasn't expecting too many fans to like 'Royalty'. It will be the first time I've heard music producer Hit-Boy. I might look around online to see what else he has to offer.

'QueensBridge Politics' is the best song on there!

Where is Hip Hop Since or whatever his name is? I want to hear an interview with him. I'd like to hear him talk about Nas and his past/current role with this new Nas album. I wonder if that relationship soured.

3.5 is generous. :pachaha: Album is 2.5, at best, and anyone who says this comes close to Lost Tapes is :troll:

My problem with this isn’t even NAS. It’s the production; the beats are :trash:

I'm a Nas Stan, but this album just doesn't hit like 2002's Lost Tapes.

It has a few bumping tracks, but it just doesn't have that suave grit that I was hoping......but only the other hand if these are lost tracks, then technically it doesn't have to be like the original, cause it was just a compilation album...no theme to it ..except these tracks were orphans, but deserved to be heard...so in that state of mind, it's moderately cool :manny:

I respect everyone's opinion, but people are really complaining about the production. This is some of the best production he's had and it isn't due to the names attached to the songs. "Lost Freestyle" and "War Against Love" are two of the best songs on the album. If Ross rapped over them, you'd have posters talking that "Ross should executive produce and A&R Nas next album" talk.

It shouldn't hit like Lost Tapes from 2002. A lot of those songs were prime Nas. Nas was still in his twenties, going through baby mama drama, beefing with another GOAT rapper, and his mother was sick. That added a heightened urgency to the music, not to mention, he was coming off Stillmatic and was about to drop God's Son and this came from nowhere dead smack in the middle of all that
