Meh; can’t believe that we waited six years for something that sounds like it was written and recorded in less than a month. It’s got a couple of dope tracks, but it feels very.... unsatisfying.
I refuse to call these 20-25 minute projects full LPs; they’re EPs no matter which way Kanye and his team try to spin it.

Nah. Realness & True Meaning are both strong 4 - 4.5 efforts.
Legal Hustle & the Lakey album were both duds
The rest of his stuff is 3.5 status.

By ‘95 big when who shot ya and the one more chance remix singles came out big was already kony.Ready to Die blew up on the strengh of Who Shot Ya and One More Chance remix, both dropped in 95. Who Shot Ya was on the b-side to Big Poppa. If it came out November of 94 and went gold in January of 95 then double platinum of October 95 = blew up in 95

I never understood where I Am got those 3-4 ratings from. If it wasn't for the Premo tracks it would be Nastradamus status.
From this project tho Adam and Eve stands out by far.

Only songs I don't like on I Am... are I Want To Talk To You, Dr Knockboots and Big Things. K-I-SS-I-N-G is okay but forgettable. Replace those four with Find Ya Wealth, Poppa Was a Playa, Drunk By Myself and Amongst Kings and I Am... would be a masterpiece.

Finally gave it a spin. Thought it was gonna be straight piff off the first track; turned out to be decent. This isn't gonna have replay value, and it's one of his weakest albums.
