Nas wasnt talkin about none of what biggie was talking about in RTD. Nas followed Biggies footsteps in how to move in the industry and making hits n shyt. And having good management. But musically and rhyme wise. Nas was one of the leaders of that kingpin mafioso shyt in the 90s. And was doing it non stop for a whole year and a half before IWW even came out. shyt on Illmatic he had the scarface themed video with The World Is Yours. Nas was basically front runner in that whole movement in the 90s.

This is the truth.

Nas, Raekwon, Jay, and Biggie were all at the forefront of the Mafioso genre. Remember Mo Money Mo Murder, Verbal Intercourse, Fast Life, Eye For An Eye ALL came out in 95. Nas was already in full Escobar mode during this period.

Nas didn’t have to ride the wave. He WAS the wave.

Then he gotta say that, its a new world now where people want accountability
I honestly don't think he doesn't care. I bet the only reason he would speak on it was if it was affecting his business, investments and deals he have. The same way why Drake addressed the blackface shyt.

Other than that, why should he speak on something that's from a past relationship. He barely talk about Carmen during that Superugly shyt when Jay bragged about fukking her. Claimed it that's on her and keep it moving.

He just got that renewed Mass Appeal deal. Had the Kelis thing really was an issue, then stuff like the Mass Appeal or his Hennessy endorsement and so on would took a hit. If its not affecting him why he feel the need to talk about it? I understand for fan closure, but knowing how Nas is... once it was addressed before then he not going to talk about it again.

So look at that tracklisting and tell me u could really put Nasir above that bro. No way. Lol

Money Is My bytch
KISSING
Dr Knockboot

Are skippables to me. Life Is What You Make it i have to be in the mood for.

So with three skippables and one ehhhh one I place Nasir above it as a BODY of work although the highs on I am are fukking incredible. Both are 4/5 in my ranking though.

Nas wasn't Esco until AFTER Ready to Die blew up. All of those names and records you mentioned were after Ready to Die. Biggie set that wave. Nas, again, changed up to garner that mainstream accessibility.

The 36 Chambers
How was it not trying for to what was popular in 1996? It was by intent. Doesn't make it a bad album. But from Illmatic which was purely street. IWW was the complete opposite musically.

Complete opposite bruh...come on now :usure:

Did it have commercial intent with the singles released of course but shyt had a crazy amount of street joints....

A Buckeye State Of Mind
the brave-hearts had some good songs

but everybody treats them like the St. Lunatics

I always thought wiz was trash, and nashawn was underrated. There was something about jungle that had me on the verge of stanning him if he had came out on his own:lmaonas:

Current NASIR track ranking, I like every track. Bonjour & White label interchangeable depending on the day. Cops Shot The Kid could have been a lot better but don't hate it, 4 mics for me

1. Everything
2. Adam And Eve
3. Simple Things
4. Not For Radio
5. Bonjour
6. White Label
7. Cops Shot The Kid

Illmatic 5/5
It Was Written 4.5/5
Lost Tapes 4.5/5
Stillmatic 4/5
Life Is Good 4/5
God's Son 3/5
I Am 3/5
HHID 3/5
Nasir 3/5
Untitled 2.5/5
Street's Disciple 2.5/5
Nastradamus 2/5

I rated Nasir lower than the other 3/5 tier albums because I can't honestly say Nasir has any songs that compare to the best on God's Son (Get Down, Made You Look, etc), I Am (NYSOM 2, Small World, Nas Is Like, Undying Love, etc), or HHID (Money Over Bullshyt, title track, Black Republican, Carry On Tradition, STILL DREAMING, etc).

you the biggest hater in this thread.. why you keep posting :scust:

this album is THE shyt..
the fact you didnt rate "adam and Eve" 5/5 .. lets me know you a fukking hater

Ready to Die blew up in 95
However, it was then certified Gold by the RIAA only two months after its release on November 16, 1994, and was certified double Platinum on October 16, 1995, only a year and one month after its release.
Ready to Die - Wikipedia
, Nas Escobar alias was mentioned on Eye For An Eye and officially appeared on OBFCL, both was spring and summer 95.
