I don’t think y’all listen to Nas to say Nasir is better than any of his previous albums like Nastradamus

Life I chose
Project Windows
Come & Get Me
Family
Some of Us...
Last Words
You Owe Me(yep)

Edit- God Love Us

I enjoy these records even still in 2018 and more than any song on Nasir

so true. Nasir is nowhere near as good as Nastradamus

Mad rappers is shytting on this album. Lol. Saying his flow is off. And sounds like he rushed it and didnt write to the beats that was given to him. Saying he sounds like he was bored and didnt try. Etc etc.

Buddens and Crooked I, who else? (RA the Rugged Man doesn't count).

I just saw Big Daddy Kane in Nas IG telling him he's a master.

Some of this production is so weak. Probably the laziest and least inspired of Kanye’s career. If it wasn’t for a couple of tracks on Pusha’s album, I would say he’s totally washed.

Just listen to the Simple Things instrumental. No way he took more than an hour to produce that entire track.
I'm sure an underachiever like you would think that. Folks who can barely tie their shoes always have opinions about how "difficult" something was for successful people.

I think this is how I have Nas’s discography:

Class of its own: illmatic

Bonafide to borderline classics: Lost Tapes > IWW > Stillmatic

Dope: God’s Son = LIG

Decent: ...I am > HHID = Untitled = Nasir

Ehh: Street’s Disciple > Nastradamus

Completely agree. And even SD and nastradamus got a lot of gems. That's a testament to how good his catalogue is

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Illmatic (it's the greatest rap album ever. Nas' gift and his curse because every album is unfairly scrutinized by comparison)
Stillmatic (the album that push him into legendary status, and push forward his longevity when prior he was on the verge of fading away)
Lost Tapes (which reminds me, I am waiting for J. Cole's lost tapes with all the unreleased joints he got.)
God Son (I very much enjoy this album... it felt like it was riding the wave of Stillmatic and Lost Tapes)
Distant Relatives (I am shocked how other rated so low. Out of all the team up albums, especially of different genres, I feel this was the best... Patience alone is one of the dopest songs I've ever heard)
It Was Written (very dope commercial album... I knocked it down a few points for it trying to wave ride with what was popular of that time)
Nasir (I feel it's his most cohesive album since Illmatic or at least the only one other than Illmatic that didn't have fillers. Plus, at this point of his career, I enjoy him just doing him)
Life is Good (Even though there's some great songs on his, I feel it's one of his most overrated albums due to a lot of inconsistent joints)
Untitled (I view this album the same as Life is Good, some great songs but in-cohesive)
I AM (I blame a lot of the bootlegging to which led to the lost tapes as to why a lot of the stuff was discarded and we for this mostly bland album with a few of his greatest songs of his career)
Street Disciple (not as bad as most people claim. But this album was bogged down to a lot of mediocracy)
Nastradamus (people without thinking usually label it as his worst album. I beg to differ because it was then being compared from Illmatic to I AM. Now with a near 20 years later, and so many albums... it should be reassessed. It is still a bland album, and it's understandable in context of what he was going through during that period, but it's not his worst)
Hip Hop is Dead (this was pure trash... the only two cool joints was Black Republicans which felt more like a Jay-Z album, and that joint with Chrisette Michelle. But the rest was terrible and confusing at times).
Bolded is wrong.

I am is dope but also uneven in the middle. You can literally HEAR the filler on I Am because of the whole bootlegging fiasco.
NYSOM Pt 2,
Small World
Hate Me Now
We Will Survive
Ghetto Prisoners
Favor For A Favor
You Wont See Me Tonight
I Wanna Talk To You
Life Is What You Make It
Nas Is Like
Dr Knockboot
Money Is My bytch
KISSING
Undying Love.

Only song I left off was Big Things. That tracklisting is FAR better than Nasir.

Kane said Nas is a lyrical genius on his IG. But Ransom shytted on it as well. He also said Nas is by far his favorite emcee of all time and there noone close. But he shytted on the album.

How was it not trying for to what was popular in 1996? It was by intent. Doesn't make it a bad album. But from Illmatic which was purely street. IWW was the complete opposite musically.
Nah. He wasnt trying what was popular in 96. He was one of the main reasons what was popular in 96 was popular. This is why I always hate when people say he was trying to follow a trend. When in reality. He was one of the people who STARTED the trend in the 90s.

No Biggie was what made it popping during that period. Nas even admit to this on Last Real nikka Alive. Nas also said on several issues that he was displeased that his success wasn't at the level of Big's and was the reason why he got Steve Stout as his manager and they got Tone and Poke (who were popping mainstream at the time) as the main producers of that album.
