I still can't consider these short projects full LPs, but this is damn near perfect. Not anything I haven't heard from him, but quality wise one of the best EPs I've ever heard.

Doesn't matter what you consider it lol. Magic is an album. It's not like all the songs are 2 minutes. What I love is that there's literally no fat on this album whatsoever. It's a classic.

this one was magical- its short and concise, great workout album for me. i think nas as a whole was probably slowed by all the label politics at sony, columbia, def jam. now he just get to create and release music how he wants to, no need for approval and all that. kids healthy, businesses good, he just locked in and enjoying his life, creating freely with a ill producer who is a fan and got great chemistry with him.

i'm rambling but i'm happy for my guy- just keep blessing us with the fire. i hope kd3 come in august like the other 2. just keep it going.

Do you consider Illmatic an album?

You're misunderstanding me. I don't think the shorter length makes it any less of a project, it's just a different kind of project.

That being said, I'd say the dividing line is 35 mins. But that's just my personal opinion. If you ask the UK they'd say 25 mins.

when you see Game do 18,000 with promotion he did, shows Nas' numbers pretty good considering the small level of promotion done. 56,000 for KD2 and even Magic beat out The Game with 22,000 over Christmas with zero promotion except some IG posts

9 is "enough" to be called an album but I don't understand not just rounding it out with a 10th strong record

An EP can be more than 5 songs. All those GOOD "albums" are EPs, don't let Kanye brainwash you

Nas doing great numbers for an artist his age dropping music on a true independent label

Look at the numbers Snoop did earlier this year. Debuted at #104 with the Super Bowl performance happening two days after it dropped

Only artists in Nas age bracket that's selling more than him if they drop tomorrow are Jay, Em and Dre and they all major label artists who always had more crossover appeal
