I’d be surprised if Tyler doesn’t win this year, and I’d have no problem with it since he deserves it. Great album, great concept/image for it, dope performances etc. I don’t think Cole will win but pulling off that arena tour during Covid means he deserves it. very impressive. And obviously Nas deserves it plus is a former winner which helps.

If Kanye performs at the Grammys he’s going to win. Might be why Drake ducked out.

Performing doesn’t guarantee you will win. Michael fukking Jackson, the greatest of ALL time; was shut out of all categories he was nominated for in 1989 after performing and having at the time what was the second
Highest selling album of time (Bad).

Kanye’s album was disappointing as hell. This is one of the few times I’m actively hoping he DOESN’T win anything because he truly doesn’t deserve it.

I’ve never cared for Tyler as an artist so I won’t comment on him.

Cole dropped a FIRE project and if there were any justice in the world, the race would be between him and Nas.

My personal opinion is that Magic will do for Nas what Evermore did for Taylor Swift last year, keep Nas’s name in the conversation amongst voters, who will vote for him not just based on KD2’s merits but Magic’s also. Nas historically doesn’t do a lot of campaigning during awards season but releasing a fire album at the end of the year is as much of a statement in itself. Nas will prevail

They are doing everything in their power to give Tyler the creator all the rap accolades for some odd reason. He is the safe pick unfortunately.

That’s 1989 though. The voting process and racial dynamics are different (consider the racism+resentment MJ had to deal with vs now). And I def think Drake knows what’s about to happen which is why he bowed out. I could be wrong. Donda was weak to me, to put it lightly. But the powers that he want old Kanye back and it’s slowly happening. Big album, new girlfriend, constantly dominating news, etc. Grammys will def want him.

Tyler has won before and will also likely perform. To me those are the two most likely winners, with Nas next and then Cole last.

Nice to see the song with the Carlito scene. Props!

As you say the imagery Nas paints of that scene perfect for the beat.

soon as Nas said that line, I knew song would be a 5/5

Felt exactly the same, the imagery really stuck in my mind for the next 10-15 seconds, i wasn't even listening to the rest.. Just vibing thinking bout that ending scene

That Carlito's Way mashup came together beautifully. Very dope.

There was a fan made video for Car 85 using scenes from Taxi Driver that was great too. Someone should do one for a track from KD2.

Lmao man, i did another mash-up for the second beat, don't even ask me why i used the 10 Commandments, just wanted to have something match when Nas says "i might have to write a script, a manuscript"

But yo, i found someone who did dope videos on YouTube for KD1 or KD2 tracks the other day, let me look out again
