He literally just said these last 3 projects were forgettable. Meaning he thinks they trash. He hasn’t liked Nas since Illmatic.so... who would you say is dropping Illmatic level material these days ? or unforgettable at the least

Nas was never under any obligation whatsoever to make an album with Premier. He NEVER has publicly said he would nor announced that it was forthcoming.
I don’t know where it became some forgone conclusion that a Nas/Premier album was MEANT to be.

I’ve got that magazine. And in the actual interview neither of them talked about an ALBUM. They were both talking about doing a SONG because it had been 5 years since they last worked together.
Nas even said about the project that turned out to be Hip Hop Is Dead, that he wanted different producers for the project.
