Personally I don’t care about reviews, especially for legacy artists. It’s always a discussion of what album from x ago did y better. Don’t care.

But Pitchfork looks bad constantly trotting out clowns for the reviews. I get it, they pay for reviews and the list of black reviewers is probably small. And I’d imagine half of those black writers are clowns who are focused more on political ideology than reviewing music. It’s a bad situation. Shout outs to Nas and Hit Boy for the dope album.

Been watching these guys for a few months now and I enjoy how they police a lot of general music journalism's covering of Hip Hop

Coop in particular is hilarious cause he cuts right to the point on these CaCs and he's got that judgemental look of dissapointment at them with those frames on which always makes me laugh:mjlol:

"What I tell you about these on code jaron Mike?":unimpressed:

"you need to take that up with yourself":unimpressed:

"No one asked for this album? No one asked for this review":unimpressed:

:dead::pachaha:

Someone need to make a Coli smiley of him and its the new call out of some hipster Cac shyt

I see critics say stuff like "No one asked for this album" on reviews all the time and it will end up being the #1 album of the week. It must drive them crazy that no one asked them...period.

Only thing undefeated is time
Second is the internet
Number three is this rhyme

As simple as those bars are compared to Nas general catalogue, something about that part of Speechless stands out. :banderas:

this is actually the only lines on the whole album that bugs me

he says the ONLY thing undefeated is time, and then names two more things

How is the internet undefeated? I guess I don’t understand that part

and the rhyme being undefeated is a little corny

probably the only part of the whole album I’m not feeling

this the album a lot of Nas fans, like myself, have been waiting for since 2003

I feel like with him dropping this as a complete surprise on Christmas Eve, this was straight up a gift to his diehard fans

You've never heard the saying "The Internet is undefeated"?

There’s saying of the ‘internet is undefeated’ if someone does a good meme or viral video. The ‘only’ bit bugs me a little as he then says two other things but overall I love those lines. He executes it perfectly with the beat changes

the only major thing that bugs me on the album is although I love the second half of Dedicated, the first half so good I want a whole song. Wish they were two separate songs

It may have been better if he said something to the effect of ‘my rhymes’ but ‘this rhyme’ just sounds better delivery and flow wise.

This is for those saying we should just ignore the white noise. (Pun intended)
The hell we shouldn't. I feel vindicated

Nas camp showing some public backbone. It's about fukking time.

I have been consistent in saying Nas above it all approach gets his ass worked over in the media.

exactly. It’s not about Nas himself it’s about these people from outside the culture disrespecting legends and we shouldn’t stand for it.

same goes if Pitch Fork or whoever disrespected Ice Cube or Scarface or Jay or whoever. There’s a difference between critiquing the music and disrespect.

It’s like that guy who called Nas overrated. Fine to have that opinion but these people outside of the culture do it with such an air of arrogance and looking down on our legends when in fact these people don’t know shyt

Facts we cant let legends like Nas be disrespected like this in the media.

Breh, it's the media. The only thing a person can do to combat the media is have their own platforms to control their narratives or what Ant suggested. Going at them on social media or replying every time they write something negative about Nas is only going to make them go harder. Nas has fired back at critics in his music. There was the XXL cover. They still publish BS about him to this day. There's an entire book by Byron Crawford called Nas Lost. Do you know how obsessive these entities have to be to go to the lengths that they go through to discredit Nas? Why feed it? Nobody cared about Byron Crawford until he made it his business to post negative posts about Nas and Lupe on XXLmag.com. Because it got him and the site traffic, he went harder and got more disrespectful to the point where he was comfortable enough to publish that book.
