Hit-Boy work on this is just :whew:

Almost like every beat is a tribute to a different 90s or early 00s producer but with his own spin. Speechless major '97 Puffy and Hitmen vibes. Seen the 40-16 beat compared to Terror Squad, that's dead on, sounds like something Just Blaze would've given them in 2000. Obviously Wu For The Children inspired by early 00s RZA, Wave Gods by Premier.

Hit-Boy is a top 3 producer the past 4 years and he AIN’T 2 or 3

Sadly shes apart of his legacy. Same reason why Jay constantly gets brought up on here and in reviews.

You're alright poster but you're very wrong here.

Certain WHITE media wants to make it a part of his legacy.

Kelis alleged Nas denied. Where else do we go from there without evidence/charges?
N they keep saying Nas needs to address it like he didn't. The dude wrote a 7page essay on his ig.
To date, still the longest post I can remember on Instagram. So basically white media is saying he needs to address it the way THEY approve. But kelis told her story her way to a blogger that wouldn't ask difficult follow up questions.

If Nas made the same claim about his ex wife without evidence, do you think these WHITE publications would behave similarly?

Keep in mind we have dope dealers n murderers as rappers now. Is that being highlighted by any of these publications? Call me cynical, I don't believe they share a legit concern what happened in Nas marriage from 10yrs ago. How many covers did RS give them?.......Right. They was married for 3yrs.

But rolling stone would have us believe they care about musicians/rappers behavior. Since when?

Nasir Jones is a high profile black man that's been scandal free for 30yrs. #metoo is a great angle to use to dirty him up a lil. It's sure as hell not because these white media give a fukk about kelis .

Roping a high profile black man into the #metoo movement seems to be the motivation. N certain media seems perturbed they're not able to make it stick.

No argument from me shyt like No Ideas Original is one long ass quotable:wow:
Even the firsrt verse fire beat is hard yet soulful.

Trust, my nikkas come home from long bids
They check for me before they see their own kids
I open up accounts for 'em, we bounce tour in
Major cities, arenas, headline with big time singers
Cop Ferraris with navigational screens
Guide us through your hood and any locality, head back to Queens
Piped out seats, Oakwood mb cord speakers
Bumpin' out old shyt
That made me think of Old Easters '86 in a le tigre short sleeves
Lees, flip the cuffs up, gettin' fukked up
From Old E, Fresh Fest, nikkas got hurt
100 nikkas rush the door with Queensbridge tournament shirts
Back then, nobody wore a vest
Pull out razors, you had to put your hand skills to the test
Get your Pumas took, come home barefoot willin'
Look at the chain I snatched with a medallion worth a thousand
Cops rushed the gawd made it home smilin'
Half of the crew probably on the island
Project call play puff ball the hoop was made out of a hanger
Playin' corners stick the elevator never thought
Project life was promised nothin' but to die trife
For steppin' on the next man's nikes my motto look for tomorrow
Today is yesterday look at the hood now, I'm mad that it turned out that way
Gats spray these shorties is killers
The older G's taught us well, what's wild now is that they're smaller
And they look at me like I'm on the outside lookin' in
Like 'who's you' when I cruise through
I call shorty took him in watch your friends, get ends
Be clever, realize that today's the first day that begins forever

They should be ripped apart more because has nowhere near the consistency Nas has, Nas has the same discography of errors and he gets way more backlash including from people like Rosenberg who still mention Em in their top 5 alongside artists with far better bodies of work

Em shouldn’t be mentioned in the same breath as Nas. It ain’t the year 2000 anymore. He puts out more mediocre music than quality. The fact his streaming numbers are still so high just shows how that white privilege really works.

I swear Lost Tapes made me look at life in a different way. No bullshyt. Nas was spitting life gems throughout that whole shyt beyond his years.

Jay has had hit records with a million different producers with no issue

And yes is what I'm getting at. This is why you'll never have people questioning Jay's beat selection even if the song is wack. A lot of us think "Change Clothes" is wack, but the masses nor the critics are going to point that out because:

1) It is a hit record

2) It is a hit record produced by The Neptunes at the height of The Neptunes run.

And this was amplified by the fact that Rollingstone gave Blueprint 3 a 3.5 star rating initially and then put it in like the Top 10 of their albums of the year list because "Empire State of Mind" took off. You're not going to see criticism of production on a hit song even if its wack (see Eminem).

Nas gets hit with criticism because he doesn't play the game. The success of his albums didn't depend on hit records or albums packed with production from the top producers, which is why every album since Illmatic caught criticism.

Nice cars, livin' like a star club hoppin'
Poppin' bottles at the bar love shoppin'
Gucci iceberg, coppin' two, three nice furs
One for your wife, one for your freak silver spurs
Rolls Royce too good to be true, houses worth 2.2
Pool parties beautiful view
You made it in life, Forbes Magazine style baggy jeans style
Pass the green while hoes wit' meanwhile
Asses, pretty mommies illest bodies pass glasses
Louis Roderra with Peach Schnapps you just relaxin'
Thinkin' damn wish my nikkas could afford this
On the sand at your Malibu house holdin' a cordless
Talkin' to lawyers accountants investments
Money doubles, triples protected hard work you manifested
Worries of failure, when you buried will your familia
Keep your name prosperin' to the maximum
You should live, there's only one life that's the physical
Rich or poor in jail why the fukk should you be miserable
Things happen for reasons, the clock keeps tickin'
Love could have your heart beat skippin', thugs turn to religion
The bytch you love could start to hate you, the shyt you use to do escape you
Things that make you laugh represent the past
Reminisce the block gamble gees on the floor
nikkas use to be the man, you don't see 'em no more
Your favorite restaurants and favorite stores, they tore 'em down
Turn 'em into shopping malls the hood is like a ghost town
Haunted by souls who thought that time stood still
Just live your life to the fullest, never look back, it's real

I meant see the last half, and want to, and get to live some of the first of this verse. That verse is chill inducing music, every time I go through my old neighborhood. "haunted by souls who thought time stood still"

but for the grace of god type of feeling.
