"One girl for the rest of your life is that realistic, some had told me they like when you call them all types of bytches, ran thru a few of them some Gangstas some Christian some with a heart full of hate for me, even with a new nikka. They label me a sinner because I left with they soul, it's really no other feeling having that type of control."

They don’t :skip:

And if you’re enjoying the music that’s coming through your headphones why exactly does narratives matter to you? It’s music not politics.

It only matters to me in that I don't want Nas to read it and think his shyt is no good, although I don't think that's going to happen (and nobody is really saying it's whack, they're just quibbling more than some of us deem acceptable or spending too much energy picking apart the non-Illmatic portion of his career).

They talk outta their ass then take exception when their bullshyt gets called out.

Problem I got with Rosenberg types is they make a living off hip hop without really contributing anything back, but he's quick to shyt on a Nas or a Chuck D. Just don't sit right.

They love talking about Nas stans being sensitive but pretend the double standard don't exist. Like, we not blind. They nitpick the fukk out of every Nas project but quick to give a pass to the Jays and the Ye's when they drop a mediocre project. It's so obvious but they pretend it's just Nas fans being sensitive

Rosenberg saying he can't spend time arguing with people who know "0 about music" is the height of arrogance. I think he's an ass but I wouldn't say he knows nothing. He doesn't know nearly enough about hip hop to be given the platform he has, but I still wouldn't say 0 because that's an extreme thing to say about something without proof.

And shytting on Chuck D is as close as you can get to blasphemy in hip hop as far as I am concerned. So maybe I am giving him too much credit and he doesn't know shyt.

This is driving me insane as I swear I used to watch this video regularly but I can't find any evidence it ever existed. Starting to worry I Mandela-effected this whole thing...
Yeah there’s no video. How old was you? Maybe it was One Love. Or maybe The World Is Yours Remix, that got a lot of play back in the day

Like 13. It might have been "One Love" but I'll be damned because I had the soundtrack and would've thought I had known better. I am old. :russell:

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Nice cars, livin' like a star club hoppin'
Poppin' bottles at the bar love shoppin'
Gucci iceberg, coppin' two, three nice furs
One for your wife, one for your freak silver spurs
Rolls Royce too good to be true, houses worth 2.2
Pool parties beautiful view
You made it in life, Forbes Magazine style baggy jeans style
Pass the green while hoes wit' meanwhile
Asses, pretty mommies illest bodies pass glasses
Louis Roderra with Peach Schnapps you just relaxin'
Thinkin' damn wish my nikkas could afford this
On the sand at your Malibu house holdin' a cordless
Talkin' to lawyers accountants investments
Money doubles, triples protected hard work you manifested
Worries of failure, when you buried will your familia
Keep your name prosperin' to the maximum
You should live, there's only one life that's the physical
Rich or poor in jail why the fukk should you be miserable
Things happen for reasons, the clock keeps tickin'
Love could have your heart beat skippin', thugs turn to religion
The bytch you love could start to hate you, the shyt you use to do escape you
Things that make you laugh represent the past
Reminisce the block gamble gees on the floor
nikkas use to be the man, you don't see 'em no more
Your favorite restaurants and favorite stores, they tore 'em down
Turn 'em into shopping malls the hood is like a ghost town
Haunted by souls who thought that time stood still
Just live your life to the fullest, never look back, it's real

I meant see the last half, and want to, and get to live some of the first of this verse. That verse is chill inducing music, every time I go through my old neighborhood. "haunted by souls who thought time stood still"

but for the grace of god type of feeling.
Bruh. This verse right here man. Smh. One of the most potent hip hop verse I ever heard in my life.

The H
We really fukked up as a community letting all these cacs and nikka nerds, make a living reviewing our culture
I honestly have never given a fukk about magazine writers and critics in my life
I wish rappers and producers would have come together and put a stop to that bullshyt long time ago
I mean, I'd listen to another rapper's critique of an album
fukk everybody else
